KICKR ROLLR SMART BIKE ROLLER TRAINER discussion

Was going to get into zwift this winter and was wondering how inferior these roller trainers were. I would like to be able to quickly take my bike off the trainer and go for a ride if the whether presents itself as good. I understand the accuracy is not on par with the direct drives but is it that dramatic?

I don’t believe this is CruzBike compatible.
It would have to roll in reverse, since the magic is happening where the DF rear wheel is.

Better bet would be to get some regular rollers (not smart) and power meter pedals. That is all you would need for Zwift. This would not adjust your resistance based on terrain, but it will allow you to ride Zwift.

Now, I tried that setup with a wheel stand (removing the rear wheel). It was not bad, but the bike moved too much for my taste.

You can also use the Wahoo Snap - you don't have to take your front (drive wheel) off for it. It is a little noisier since the wheel rolls on a cylinder but it works fine as far as reporting power.
