Improving climbing on S40 Gen 6 with 1x11 drivetrain

Was this a SRAM APEX derailleur? Mine (2019 S40) was works with 11 speed Sunrace 11-46 cassette(see below) . It will work with the existing 42T 1X chainring without adding a longer chain. I beleive it can alos take an 11-50 casstte.

    S40 aero upgrades

It is important to ensure your wrist is in line with the arm when you grip the handlebar. If it is twisted (up or down) it may strain due to the rythmic push/pull nature of the FWD moving Bottom Bracket system.

    S40 aero upgrades

I think a combination of a large tailbag and covering the rear triangle has a cumulative aero effect. I don't have any scientific numbers to qualify it but the Parkers once shared a wind tunnel result (for V20) and the covered rear triangle had some notable advantage. "This saved 3.8 Watts at 0...

    llavalle's A4X Build

It looks like the handlebar is facing the opposite direction? It's swooping towards the rider instead of away? It should be like this right? :

    A4X speculation

I like the back of the seat idea. I use that on my S40. Especially if they are low. Practice it. It shall soon become second nature. I don't like adding weight to the boom or the handlebars (especially a water bottle). It affects the handling of the bike.

    Affordable Aero Tailbags

I , came across another affordable 5.8lt tailbag that needs no extra metal support to the frame. Found on AliExpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008616672433.html ). I think it makes a good fit for S40 while still staying aero. It can take a small tool set, a rain jacket, phone, a...

    Do I need an S40?

I have an S40. I ride on tarmac most of the time and I can keep up (mostly) with my roadbike friends. Yes, it can be pretty fast when equipped with road specific components. If I was to ride gravel and relatively bumpy trails I think my speed will significantly reduce and so would the comfort...

7% on tarmac is pretty low to get a wheel slip unless your are pedaling squares! :D. Unless there is some loose sand on the surface or some slippery wet mud, I don't get wheel slip on good tarmac until around 13-15% or higher.

Cheap trainer setup for proper fit

Maybe write an email to @Robert Holler ( "support at cruzbike.com" ) of Cruzbike for advice on the correct length of the thru axle adapter for a classic Turbo Trainer. My S40 is the older type( year 2019) that came with quick release not thru axles.

Cheap trainer setup for proper fit

Hi, You need a special through axle. There are many types on ebay e.t.c . Here is one https://www.ebay.com/itm/195471663777 Classic fluid trainers are better though. (Saris/CycleOps fluid2 or Kurt Kinetic). You can pick up used ones from ebay for about the same price. Also check this thread...

    Fit Check: Knee Pain

I use an opensource graphics tool called Gimp on Linux to measure the angles. Not the best but it works. For Windows try https://kinovea.org/features.html But it all assumes that the camera was perpendicular to the bicycle, otherwise the resulting angles will be skewed . You still did not...
