Possible S30 owner passing by Maylands train station around 7.45am?

I caught another glimpse of the Ghost Rider. He was travelling over the Claisebrook bridge. It’s a Silvio! Or at least it had that on the frame. Appears to have been kitted out a bit though. Amazing looking machine in motion.

Possible S30 owner passing by Maylands train station around 7.45am?

Don’t ask me why - I have to know. I got caught at the Maylands railway stop and watched as someone on what looked like a well loved S30 passed by on the other side. I tried to catch up, but even with the 350 tongsheng mid drive on my Q451, I couldn’t catch them before they headed down off the...

Pedal assist on 2012 Silvio - Help please

Just to clarify: the photos of the orange cruzbike quest are mine, not Supers. Also, the details he referenced are incorrect: those image depict a a 48v torque-based engine, not a 36v cadence-based drive. That said, the size, shape, and placement of the drive are comparable. Elaine - I've done...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

I didn’t know there was more than one kind. It’s the Utility seat for cruzbike, that appears to be for older cruzbike models(?)

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

A couple of clearer images. The Ventsit is great for a couple of reasons: 1. It really does seem to prevent the sweaty back issue I have when doing long rides (My daily commute is a 44km round trip). 2. Although I suspect that my original cushions were a bit squashed (the bike is second hand...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Version 1.2, after I discovered the new cruzbike rear rack isn’t compatible with the battery placement behind the seat. The added weight to the front isn’t exactly welcome, but it doesn’t feel like it’s worsened the steering, and the heft at the front helps with climbing in the wet, or on loose...

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

Having just spent a lot of money on a secondhand 451 (and more to come in replacement parts), I'm following this thread with a perverse combined sense of intense buyers remorse and enthusiastic curiosity. Like: besides the obvious physical difference, what is the difference in...

WTB: locally sourced (/used) Quest parts

I'm a new owner of a used Quest 451 (v2) located in Perth, Western Australia. I'm hunting some replacement stuff. I've already spoken with the cruzbike team and they have most of what I'm seeking, but it just occurred to me (yes, I work slow... ish) that there might be people willing to part...

    Q 451 v2 assembly question

Benphyr, I'll consider your suggestion about having very light tension on the SPDs - thanks. Ragbrai, I hear what you're saying about the 559 Chainstay. I emailed Rob at Cruzbike support concerning that, a Ventsit, and replacement seat adjustment brackets. Waiting to hear back. I've posted...

Some clearer pics. Note the elegant draping of the Henty Wingman as inspired by another forum member. ; )

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

I need to do some reading on the Nuvinci tech: it sounds more complicated than the Shimano hub on my Elliptigo. Thanks bret. Side note: the longer, more offset crank arms, coupled with (slightly) shortening the steering boom, appears to have put the derailleur hanger out of reach of my heel...

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Hey bret, what's the Nuvinci hub like? I've seen them on eBay for $500(ish). On my Elliptigo I've got a Shimano (8 speed?) internal hub, I suspect its a bit like driving an automatic car: Sure, you can drive a manual if you have to, but if you have the option, automatics are nice to drive. : )

Ah - thanks for the tip Super, I had no idea. : )

Electric conversion to a Quest 451

Okay, this time with pictures (And numbers). It's the Solarbike rebranded Torque based mid drive in the 48v 500w version. I don't think I need the power, but I read 60 pages of forum thread a few days ago regarding this motor (The TongSheng TSDZ2), and it sounds like earlier models (250-350w)...
