Folding a Q45 to put in a vehicle

Yes, exactly, but with the Q45 front end on the hinged T50 frame. This would also more easily allow for switching seats if necessary. Brilliant! We make it seem so easy.

Folding a Q45 to put in a vehicle

Thanks a bundle, woodguy! That's exactly what I was hoping for, pictures and description of someone fitting a Q45 into something the size of our Subaru. Not as easily done as one might hope, but doable. I wonder whether a T50 with a split hinge (like you see on an HP Velotechnik Grasshopper...

Folding a Q45 to put in a vehicle

I wonder whether the B1, with 20 inch wheels, was a little easier to fold and a little lighter.

Folding a Q45 to put in a vehicle

Thanks so much, Benphyr. I appreciate your detailed response. I have three rwd recumbents, which all fit without too much fuss in our van, but I'm wondering whether a Q45 will fit in the trunk of a mid-sized sedan. It does seem reasonable from your description, and a few minutes breaking it...

Folding a Q45 to put in a vehicle

Hi, I'm interested in knowing whether anyone has folded up a Q45 to put it in the back of a vehicle. I don't mean packing it up to put in a suitcase, just for putting it in your trunk or cargo area when you need to once in a while. If you do, does it work well and how quickly can you manage...

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

I held off on buying the new T50 because it just didn't quite fit the bill for me, mostly because I was hoping the seat would recline a bit more. This new S45 is exactly what I was hoping Cruzbike would create.

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

Thanks, quickbeam, I have. Cruzbike contacted me almost the same day and is working to put me in touch with someone about 45 min. away. I'm hoping it'll work out.

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

Excellent news! Now I need to go find someone in my area with a Cruzbike so that I can show my wife I've done my due diligence.

    Any T50 news?

That's why I just checked in now. I'm hoping that the frame will be light enough that, with the right components, it won't be seen as just an entry level bike, that it will perform really well in its own right.

    New cheap Cruzbike

My hope and dream is that both fork and rear stays will take 26 x 2.3, with clearance for full fenders. To secure the fenders, it needs decent mounting points beneath both the fork and what I guess you'd call the chain stays at the front. And it'll need proper braze-ons for the fender stays...

    New cheap Cruzbike

I'm just going to add my encouragement here to the Parkers for bringing this new bike to market. I've been waiting for a non-suspended Cruzbike with more traditional recumbent seat and strut arrangement, one room for wider, higher volume tires and full fenders. I wonder, too, whether it will...

    A simpler Silvio?

Thanks, MrSteve. It's all starting to become clearer now.

    A simpler Silvio?

Ratz: Thanks for the detailed response. In particular, I really appreciate the info about the BB issue. I'll have to reread what you've said and take a closer look at the bikes themselves. I've got a garage full of bikes and not one has external bearings. If I'm reading the problem...
