    Front fairing

Ah, my bad. *Has another look on (Windows) mobile phone and spots the link this time.* Maybe the board needs better colour contrast for links. Anyway, you can't copy and paste on an iphone either IIRC, so there! :P ;) Cheers, Rob

    Front fairing

Can't do that. I am posting from my mobile phone at the moment, and the functionality is limited for things like copying and pasting. Besides, there aren't that many threads on the brag board and I have only started two. The one you're looking for is entitled My Fair(ed) Silvio! Cheers, Rob

In case anyone hasn't noticed, I put some pictures of my fairing setup on a new brag board thread. Check them out. Cheers, Rob

example of a bad fairing attempt :( ..ideas for attempt #2?

Hey Mark, It only feels like a sail when there's a tailwind, and then it's the best thing in the world - effortless cruzing... :) In a headwind, it's like a cross between a shield and a sword, if you catch my drift. As for crosswinds, take a close look at my pics and you'll see that there isn't...

example of a bad fairing attempt :( ..ideas for attempt #2?

Now that I have the position pretty much dialed in, the Streamer fairing on my Silvio feels like it gives me a significant aero boost, but I haven't got a computer setup for objective comparison. See my brag board thread to see the fairing position. YMMV of course. Cheers, Rob

    My Fair(ed) Silvio!

Finally, here are some close-ups of my fairing-mounted lighting solution. I decided to mount the lights low down on the front, where they don't interfere with my view when riding - see the driving-position pic higher up to see what I mean. Cheers, and merry xmas to everyone! :D Rob p.s. Any...

    My Fair(ed) Silvio!

A view from the front, and another from the driving position. As you can see in the latter, the fairing actually sits on the hoods, giving a very sturdy four-point mounting system and keeping my hands protected from the elements.

    My Fair(ed) Silvio!

So I finally fixed my camera and took a few shots of my faired Silvio. These initial pics are mainly just to give an idea of how I have the fairing set up and how it looks on the bike. Bear in mind, this was just before leaving to visit my family for the holidays, and I didn't have a chance to...

    Front fairing

Hi Mark, Trust me, there are no great mechanical skills needed for this job. It just took a little thinking to work out how to best mount the Streamer, and some testing to get the position right. I am pretty much there now on both counts. It will be easier to explain the process with pictures...

    Front fairing

Hi all. Here's an update. I had my first long ride with the fairing on saturday (maybe 25 miles) and I am glad to report that the Streamer works very well on a Silvio. To give some context, I hadn't ridden at all in a while due to a recent house move. Combined with the narrower bars, and the...

    Tail box

Not without extending the seat on the Silvio I'm afraid (see the thread lower down). I looked into this box a while back and emailed the company to ask them what they thought. We agreed that the problem was its height. If it were to hang from the Silvio seat, it would rest on the back wheel...

    Front fairing

Well, I now have the fairing attached in a pretty good position. I had a quick ride this afternoon, and it felt good even without my clip in shoes and other cycling gear. Can't wait to give it a proper test, but that will have to wait until I get the handlebars changed over. My current midge...

    Front fairing

I tried to fit the fairing at the weekend, but was foiled by the upper loop attachment being unable to tighten around the silvio sloping front tube (the Silvio tube is narrower than the typical SWB boom expected by the Streamer design). This was more than a little frustrating... My new plan is...

    Front shock problem

Hi all. As many of you will be aware, I have had my Silvio for quite a while now, but until today I had never tried to adjust the front shock (it started to bottom out once or twice this week). So this morning, I tried to pump up the shock. I attached the pump, and after some fiddling gained a...
