For the OP I can only echo the comments of others,
I started out with a Silvio 2.0 with a 27 deg seat 13 years ago. I had 10 years experience with RWD bents but the Cruzbike was something else altogether.
I was a nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Group rides were the worst. If...
I guess I'll be the odd man out here and say how pleased I am with my large platform Catalyst pedals on my S40 and T50. I love being able to just jump on the bike and ride without first having to get into cycling shoes plus I can get off the bike to walk around in comfort without the clip clop...
Something similar happened to me on my V20 and to a friend of mine on his V when adjusting the handlebar position resulted in a broken clamp.
This is a weak link in the design in my opinion.
Robert H advised me to be sure to grease the threads before installing the new upper boom tube I ordered.
After briefly looking over this post I wonder if any of you dedicated long distance tourists have ever considered the T50?
It seems to me the T50 offers a few advantages over the Q45 for loaded tours, one of which is the lack of a rear shock which seems to be a problem on the Q45, at least...
You might look into purchasing Catalyst pedals. They are designed so you pedal with your arch instead of the ball of your foot
I have them on my T50 and my S40 and they really make a difference.
It's easy to mount a dog carrier on the T50. The rack I'm using is a Blackburn Local Deluxe, an inexpensive, compact, highly adjustable and disc brake compatible rack that is no longer in production,
Previous to this bike I had the carrier mounted on a Cruzbike Freerider which had both front and...
Wait! You want a lighter S40 and yet you also want a kickstand?
A lighter bike will make climbing mountains effortless?
Uh, let's be clear - the weight of the rider far outweighs the bike by many times over.
It seems like that would be the place to look at to reduce weight before an expensive...
It's for whan I'm starting out on a group ride or doing any slow speed turning so I can Flintstone with one leg to prevent falling over while I pedal with the other
I've been using Catalyst pedals on my S40 for 2 months now and I like them. I can't say if they give me a more powerful stroke as they claim but they grip really well and are comfortable. I like them so much I ordered another set for my T50. It's nice to just jump on the bike without changing...
I'm familiar with some parts of the route around Corvallis and the climb up to Alsea Falls from Alpine is one tough son of a gun.
I tried it once on a LWB bent I had at the time, towing a BOB trailer. I had to get off and walk because I was loosing steering control due to the front end getting...
Thanks Jason, I gave that solution some thought but I had those inline cable adjusters on an Silvio 1.0 I had and they did not work very well.
Woulda saved mucho $ though but the new derailleur will have the cage lock which the MS lacks.
Just finished a ride with the SRAM Apex brifter and it's like a Swiss watch compared to the original Microsoft brifter.
I'm getting the bike ready for the BRNW ride this June.
Thanks Rojo, I have the Sram Apex brifter on the bike but now but I need cable adjuster for the derailleur. Microshift had one built into the brifter but the Apex doesn't have one there or on the mech. I cobbled something together by tapping threads into the mircoshift mech and using an mtb...
I want to change the Microshift brifter on my Gen 5 S40 to something better.
I don't like the derailleur housing exiting the left side of the brifter into the knee area, having to reach my index finger up to try to find the little upshift button and the shifting is not crisp.
Will the SRAM Apex...
