S40 vs bacchetta aero 3.0

I have been riding Bacchetta Aero 3.0 for several years. very good bike on the flat and the descents but a real tractor on the climbs. I therefore took the plunge and bought an s 40 frame which I equipped with clx2 carbon wheels and a sram force groupset with the crankset and the cassette red. the whole thing weighs about 11.5 kg. I must say that after 200 miles traveled here are the differences. first of all I was very surprised at the comfort despite an aluminum frame, but what really changes me are the climbs: it's much easier with the S 40; At first I had the impression of having an electric bike!!!! We feel that all the power is transmitted almost without loss to the machine. on the other hand it took me 60 miles to be comfortable with the bike. we have the feeling of being in the bike whereas with the bacchetta we are on it...
In short, I don't regret it. It’s the best of the best.

Ciao Georges. That direct transmission of power to the front wheel is one of the prime advantages to a Cruzbike. And that feeling of being one with the S40, I'm also in complete agreement. If you find yourself in Toscana, let me know in advance, perhaps we can arrange a ride together. Buon giro in bici! bentinitalia

I used to ride a Bacchetta CA2 and switched to the S40. The CA2 is wicked fast on descents, but the S40 is the better climber, by far.

I personally found the S40 to have wheel slippage on really steep ascents. A year ago I switched to the V20c and have not had that issue since then. I know some prefer the S40 for climbing, but I'm faster on all surfaces with the V20c.

I ride with a cycling club and have a few buddies I ride with. We compete on Strava segments all the time. I still ride an upright bike along with my V20c and decide what to ride based on my route and who I'm riding with. My buddies have taken to calling my V20c the "cheater bike," lol.
