I am probably the slowest S40 rider on this planet.
Averaged about 13-14 kms per hour on this 140kms long ride to Arkavathy dam.
By the time I came back, I was toast.
How do you guys manage to ride super long distances with this bike? (RAAM , brevets etc)

Yep, just keep a slow pace you can handle for longer durations. Everyone's 50km pace is faster than their 100km, so you just gotta accept that fact and roll with it.

The worst part is riding out of bangalore is a downhill slope.
Coming back is much tougher when you are already tired and facing too much traffic and sun.

Roads were good. Those were abandoned dam roads. its a pretty isolated area. There were pretty much 2 people there. Me and another guy who came on a motor bike.

So cool! I have to keep an eye out for this S40 the next time I am in BLR. I saw some road bikes around when I was there in March. The traffic (and road surface) felt daunting, but the roadies seemed to know what they were doing.

Happy riding!

The cycling culture/scene is pretty vibrant around the cities. (BLR/ Delhi/mumbai etc).
If any of you are interested you can participate in https://tourofnilgiris.com/ (TFN) which is a 2 week scenic tour through southern Indian states.
Ofcourse there are other tours as well, but this one is quite famous.
