Cruzbike S40 sighting at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon! Each year this marathon happens in south Mississippi, and they get six volunteers to be bike marshalls and escort the top three males / females. For a bike, it is a relatively slow ride for 26.2 miles, but it is great to see top athletes performing their best! You also need a bike that is nimble enough to weave through other runners and walkers. If the cyclist decides to ride back to the start when it is over, parts of that are on a sidewalk along the beach. Some sections are wide, others narrow, there are pedestrians, it can get bumpy, and it can get windy. Other parts are on the roads and if you are with other bikes, you want to be able to keep a pace of ~18mph or so. The S40 with cushy gravel tires is the perfect fit for this mission! It is highly maneuverable, very comfortable, and can still go fast. I have a V20c for fast road rides, but the S40 is my go to bike for multiple surface types and tight spaces/paths.
