S40 2019 front fork compatibility

I’ve been enjoying the s40 2019 version. Did upgrades of adding the viscocet headset and a 2x sram force axs drive train with Rolf wheels. I still have to install the Thor seat that I’ve had for 4-5 years. I get squeamish with the thought of cutting the seat flanges on the frame to make the seat fit.

The next improvement might be an e-bike conversion. The Cyplore kickstarter looks promising. However it requires a through axle frame vs quick release. Looking at the front assembly on my frame, I’m wondering if I can use a through axle wheel? If not, can the front assembly be upgraded to a through axle setup? Anyone know? Older cyclists want to know…

Wanted to comment on this kickstarter. I find that where I need the most assist on a Cruzbike is starting from a full stop. Hills too, but are secondary. This seems to be a poor fit for a start from stop use case.

AFAIK, You cannot use a TA wheel on a QR bike.

Thanks for the reply, which is what I expected. Anyone know if I can “upgrade” to a front assembly that would accept a through axle wheel?

You would need the current fork and chain stay that use thru axles. The easiest thing to do would be to contact Cruzbike directly to see if they have spares of these two parts. I've done that in the past for other bits, and they have been quite helpful. Also, if you like your current chain stay length, great. But if you've ever thought that a longer or shorter one would fit you better, this would be a chance to make that change.

I have a 2020/21 S40 that was QR and had to order a longer chainstay for it so figured what the heck and did it. I converted the front to a thruaxle by purchasing a new fork and chainstay so it may be possible on the 2019 as well but I'd ask the gurus at cruzbike just to make sure.
