I joined the local cycling team this past winter, which has put me back on a regular road bike, a Specialized Tarmac SL8. So now I toggle back and forth between that and the V20c, depending on if I'm riding solo or with others. This new wheelset is for the SL8...
* Light Bicycle Airia 47mm deep rims in the "flyweight" build:
One thing I like about ordering from Light Bicycle is that I can have them make me rims without holes in the rim bed for spokes. It takes about seven weeks for the rims to arrive and adds a little more work to the build, but I come away with tubeless-ready wheels that don't need rim tape, and my rims have 24 fewer holes in them, for a little more strength.
* Bitex BX312 F & R Disk Centerlock hubs, 24h:
I only use Bitex hubs, a go-to for wheel builders. Comparable to high-bling hubs in performance and weight, without the high-bling price. They come out of Taiwan, with quality TPI bearings. They're reliable and come with all the cassette body and axle options you could want.
* Sapim CX-Ray spokes:
This a splurge. I can get nice Sapim Race round spokes for $.86 each, or I can get Sapim CX-Rays for $3.29 each. The CX-Rays are lighter. stronger, and bladed. Definitely one of those "you only live once, so go for it" kind of things.
My V20c is running...
