    Power meter for V20

I have run a Power2Max crank-based power meter on my V20 for the past five years. The V20 is my only bike so this works for me - I don't have the need for a pedal based system. What I like about this product is that it just works. I only have to change the battery every 12 to 15 months and it...

    Knee Issues?

Hey Drewe What length cranks did you have on the Sofrider? I used to run 172.5 mm on my Specialized Roubaix and Volae Club. When I ran into problems with knee pain a friend who was a trained bike fitter recommended I move to shorter cranks. As a result, I moved to 165 mm cranks when I bought...

Power Meter Recommendations- might need new Crankset

The Vendetta (2017 V2) is my only bike. I use a crank-based, Power2Max Type S power meter fitted to Rotor 3D 165mm crankarms - based on DC Rainmakers recommendation at the time. It just works. No hassle. Change the battery once every 12 to 15 months. No doubt I'd be just as happy with a SRAM...

    New V20, New to Cruzbike

Hey Andy Since you loved your Encore, I'm certain you'll love your Vendetta even more once you get a few weeks on the bike under your belt. I came from a steel-framed Volae and wouldn't go back to any form of stick bike. Unless you're a really heavy guy, I don't believe you need to go to 160...

    Front wheel for an S40

You can run tubes in tubeless rims and in tubeless tires. Because I had trouble getting tubeless tires to seat in my tubeless rims (unless I took the wheel to my LBS who used a compressor), I run latex tubes inside (and put the sealant in the tube).

    60mm or 50mm carbon wheelset?

On my Vendetta I currently run a 35mm front / 50mm rear carbon wheelset from Wheelworks - https://www.wheelworks.co.nz/shop-2/road-wheels/maker-ar-disc/. I really like this set-up. Looks great and there are no issues at all in cross winds. That said, if and when I purchase the next model...

    Crash due to flat tire

I run a 25mm Continental GP4000S II on the front and a 28mm Schwalbe Pro One Tubeless on the back (with latex tube because I've had all sorts of hassles setting up tubeless on the my rims). Same experience as Robert - both are fast with loads of cornering grip. The Schwalbe Pro One seem to wear...

    The next generation Cruzbike?

Actually I'm pretty sure you're right, on reflection. A narrow rim would force the tire up higher, while a wider rim would cause the tire to spread wider and not raise so high.

    The next generation Cruzbike?

That's impressive, and unexpected. I run a 28mm tire on the back, but on a Wheelworks Maker carbon rim with a 17mm internal width it runs things close. I run 25mm on the front because my measurements suggest there would only be 2 to 2 mm clearance with a 28mm tire. Although I really would like...

    The next generation Cruzbike?

On cue, Boyd Cycling release their new road disc wheel with a giant 22mm internal width (and 29mm external width) for road tires up to 30mm wide. Details here: https://www.boydcycling.com/shop/pinnacle-series/36-road-disc-rear-wheel/ and here...

    The next generation Cruzbike?

Dang! I hadn't realised that there were so many different thru-axle standards (can we even call them standards if there are 10 of them?) Possibly the best time for Cruzbike to release their next-gen Vendetta would be in 2020 when Dura-Ace and Red 12-speed group-sets become available. Hopefully...

    The next generation Cruzbike?

I didn’t ride with the group this morning as I had a draining week and needed a sleep-in. Instead had an easy 90 minute ride on the trainer, which gave me time to think about this. After riding the Vendetta for 18 months, I love this bike. Best bike on the planet for the type of riding I do...

    S30 disc 'fast' driven-wheel recommendations.

The AI33 rims look to be a great option. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aforcewheels/al33-the-fastest-aluminum-bicycle-wheels I would have bought a disc set built up by November Bicycles if they had been available last year when I built up my Vendetta...

    Max tire size 650b

I'm considering setting up a Silvio S30 as an adventure/gravel bike. A recumbent version of the Mason Bokeh if you will. I was hoping to be able to run the Compass 650B x42 Babyshoe Pass front and rear. But it looks like that could only happen on the rear. Disappointing as the latest version of...

Tips needed on getting more aero with an under seat frame fairing

I agree re the overlapped seam - slight hokey but likely to be effective in providing the best fit. Cost of the Dyma CL is AU$198.00 for the covers + AU$26.30 for international shipping.

Tips needed on getting more aero with an under seat frame fairing

My wheels do use disc brakes (hydraulic road disc is excellent as you know). Unfortunately I have very low mechanical inclination, but my son is Shimano trained and is great mechanically so I'll have a chat to him about that. Thanks for the tip.

Tips needed on getting more aero with an under seat frame fairing

Thanks for the quick reply Bob and Justin (and for taking the time to post the link). I'm after something I can set and forget - and run permanently. From what I've seen of Justin's great little under seat cardboard box, and Bob's comments, I'm thinking that waiting for the Moose Pack might be...

Tips needed on getting more aero with an under seat frame fairing

My Vendetta is significantly faster than the high-racer it replaced. On flat land, I can now drop just about any df rider I want no matter how strong they are (apart from very strong racing cyclists who I have to content myself with riding alongside). Consequently, riding the Vendetta has become...
