If I can build up an S30, so can you

The S30 felt pretty good! Averaged right at 16 mph, which considering my current fitness level and that I'm still getting used to the bike, isn't bad. I was able to stay in the big ring for short climbs that I'd have gone to the small ring for on the Silvio 1.5. The reach to the pedals felt...

Chain WAXing (yes it's that easy) - and other mysteries of this art!

I started using Squirt last summer. I had no idea a chain could be that quiet. I didn't even realize it had been making noise...until it wasn't.

:emoji_joy::emoji_joy: I don't think it would stick to the Plasti-Dip. Which, however, does come in neon colors. One never knows. :emoji_anguished:

If I can build up an S30, so can you

Finally got the homemade utility post finished and installed. It's a 6" length of 3/4" ID PVC pipe, with a 9mm thick mounting bracket made of Lexan, epoxied and zip-tied to the pipe (my husband was afraid the epoxy alone wouldn't be strong enough), and sprayed with several coats of Plasti-Dip by...

Suggestions for a new bike carrier

My Silvio 1.5 worked on one like that. I expect the S30 will fit, but I haven't tried it yet.

    Electric Quest

Welcome! The QX100 comes with 26" (559) wheels and disc brakes. You could use smaller wheels easily, as long as they were also disc-brake compatible. I have 24" (507, youth MTB-size) wheels on my Quest (predecessor to the QX100, very similar frame), which originally came with BMX 20" (451)...

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

All I have is a 42T inner. Couple of thousand miles on it, but still in good shape.

I went with Lizard Skins red camo (red with random white streaks). Think that'll be fast enough?

If I can build up an S30, so can you

I changed from OCP #4 to #3 for Saturday's ride. It wasn't any faster, and the cadence was the same, but the pedal stroke felt smoother.

Moved it up 2.5 to 3 cm. It worked quite well on today's ride. When I first set it up, I hadn't taken into account that there would be some "give" when there was weight on the neckrest. I think you were right. I tried the heel-on-pedal test and found myself barely able to graze the pedal, so I...

    Any T50 news?

Google "cruzbike T50" and some really interesting things come up. It's a reality.

    Short Guy

Look at my thread called Introducing the family to the Q. I have a picture of my niece, who is in the 4'10" to 4'11" range, riding my Quest (previous version of the QX100, same basic frame). My brother, who is 5'4" and has shorter legs than I do, was able to ride it also. The boom/slider is...

    New Bike Blues

That was about how I used the triple on my road bike. Shifting to the big ring was iffy at best on my stock Shimano 105 setup, despite multiple trips to the LBS*. I finally took off the 52T and had them adjust the FD so I couldn't shift past the middle ring. Then I put a 42T Q-ring on and ran it...

    New Bike Blues

I haven't tried the serious chipseal yet on the S30, and won't until I get the headrest sorted. But the routine bumps haven't felt much different from the Silvio 1.5, with the same wheels and tires. You may find you don't need the triple with a lighter, more aero bike and higher BB. I had...

If I can build up an S30, so can you

I might be able to move it up 1 cm. Much more than that will interfere with the bottom of the helmet, and push my chin down even farther toward my chest. I may temporarily put a wedge behind my upper back and shoulders along with moving the headrest up, before I go cutting anything. From @ratz'...

If I can build up an S30, so can you

Now we're getting somewhere. The handlebars are taped, the bottle-cage mount installed and one cage attached. After having my son take video of me riding, so I could see the crankarm position at full leg extension, I was able to orient the Q-rings better. I ended up with OCP #4 on the bolt...

Modded the back of the sherbet-colored helmet. The red Scotchlite tape is a slight improvement over the Garish Green™ it covers, besides being reflective.

    New to Cruzbike

I don't know what model rack this is, but the pictures at least show that a Quest or QX100 can be carried on a trunk rack. http://www.nybents.com/cruzbike-quest-on-car-mounted-bike-rack/

    New Cruzbike Accessories

I've been wondering about this. I bought two of the new Cruzbike bottle cages to go with the bottle cage mount. There's so little of the cage mount screws protruding into the center space, that I couldn't imagine how one would mount that post.
