I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

A hacker would try to figure out how to shift her friend's derailleur, just to give him a hand.

Might want to change your chainrings or even your cassette for this.

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

For practical purposes, that's the iPhone crowd, Samsung has ANT+ on most of their phones now. Also, I'm wondering the best place to mount a PowerPod on a CruzBike where it won't have any interference in the airstream.

Any CruzBikers competing in the Race Across the West aka RAW?

A water filter bottle is probably a lot more convenient than a lifestraw-style filter. You can filter water then pour it into your water bottles. (I have a Grayl I picked up about 18 months ago, as a backup when I went to Indonesia).

    Cruzbike Wild Horse Italy

He's also got a tadpole trike. Looks like he's doing homebuilt bikes in a bunch of styles.

    Not a cruzbike

I suspect you're losing a nontrivial amount of power in that front triangle, stiffening the front triangle is one of the major things that has happened as the CruzBike models have evolved over time. But otherwise... cool man!

    QX100 Steering Mod

I believe those really short stems are commonly used for "downhill" mountain bikes. I was using one backwards on my Conversion Kit along with a cruiser-style handlebar mounted upside down for awhile.

    Must Start to finish

You can see the front wheel 's direction wobbling a bit it's not making the bike move much. A good demonstration that a bicycle's lean is pretty important to turning.

    The last V2k

I don't have a V2K frame, but I do have a Conversion Kit based on a Trek Y 26, which has a similar rear triangle geometry. I use a Topeak Explorer Tubular Rack with one Mounting Bracket Arm (extra long 34.5cm) using one side of the rear shock mounting bolt as the mount point. Not as strong as...

This is why I'm training indoor right now.....

DC got about 1" of snow on Wednesday before the big storm which resulted in a huge mess on the beltway. Then Friday-Saturday the metro area got as much as 3' of snow (DC itself was around 20"), out in the far western suburbs it was about 30". Pretty much everything was closed down through...

    Best rain jacket under $200?

I've got an older version of the Marmot PreCip Rain Jacket. It's current MSRP is $100. My recollection is I got it on a sale at REI maybe a decade ago. As for cold: layering! I've worn this jacket on warmer ski days with a fleece and thermal underwear underneath. Air temperature right about...

Action Cameras At Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES)

These battery powered drones can't fly very long at all. In the Washington DC area, It's against FAA regulations to fly them pretty much anywhere Inside the Beltway and now the FAA is requiring these toys to be registered (and there will be a fee to do so soon). I suspect compliance with the...

    Bullhorn and Dropbar Options

Many Sony and Samsung phones support ANT+, so you can have a bike computer with heart rate, speed, cadence, and power sensor support just by loading an app. Phones though tend to be a lot larger than bike computers with much worse battery life though--on the other hand, you probably already have...

    electric assist

I believe most pedelec use a torque sensor somewhere in the crankset, which may be adaptable to a CruzBike with some work, but certainly isn't as plug&play as the Copenhagen wheel was intended to be (for most bikes). This is probably why most pedelec kits are generally available to bike builders...

    electric assist

I'm hardly an expert, but I've done some (online) investigation in the past. First: The Endless Sphere Forums is probably the biggest DIY ebike online community. You'll probably want to spend some time there. Here's one vendor of kits that seemed to be recommended on Endless Sphere when I was...

It's me with the unridden Vendetta again.

You might want to find someone with a Quest or a Sofrider or even a Silvio nearby to try starting with a less reclined recumbent.

    First Vendetta Ride WooHoo!

On my conversion kit, if I don't stick out any arms or legs, a crash usually results in a moderate scrape. It's a baaaad idea to try to break a bike fall with hands or feet! New-Skin burns because it includes an antiseptic. There are other liquid bandages which don't include one, but make sure...
