I'm on a Conversion Kit, and I do have traction problems on steep hills, especially on gravel or dirt roads. I'm doing better than I used to, experience + clips have helped.

I don't have any Revelate bags, but a search of the forums brings up several posts discussing them.

I just rode a mostly unpaved trail ride in the dark tonight. I'm pretty happy with my headlight. For most of it, it illuminated almost the entire trail ahead pretty evenly and bright enough to be useful. Other people had lights which lit up a small bright spot ahead and not much useful light...

For another front fender option, I use Zefal No-Mud Mudguard mounted backwards. It mounts on the fork blades. This is on a Conversion Kit bike, it should work on Sofrider and Quest and maybe on Silvio and Vendetta. Topeak makes a similarly mounted front fender, the DeFender XC-1.

That Nitto bar isn't actually a bullhorn, but its a city bike bar, but mounted upside down and pointed away. Velo Orange makes a similar bar in both road bike and mountain bike tube diameters

I think that was the only change, but I'm hardly an expert. I was just a bit surprised that you got a light with the ballhead mount. hmm... If you meant the second generation vs. first generation, then the second generation had several changes (according to what I've read, I've never had one)...

Sounds like you have the first revision of the second generation light--Philips switched back to the non-ballhead mount fairly quickly. The artifacts increase your visibility to oncoming traffic to about the level of an inexpensive bike light without a shaped beam.

Busch&Muller has some US distribution, and you can order lights from overseas, if you want fairly bright lights with shaped beam patterns.

Scott, if you haven't been there yet, go visit the ipBike site, and read the online manual, especially the first time usage tips. ipBike is powerful but the user interface is at times not obvious.
