You have a better climbing gear with your 38/32=1.19 ratio than I have with my 34/28=1.21 ratio. The ratio represents wheel revs per pedal revolution. So you will travel a shorter distance than I will for each pedal revolution, which makes climbing easier.

My 28 mm Gatorskin measured 26.5 mm. My 25 mm GP4000 tires measure 25 mm.

It depends on your cassette and hills. I have bigger hills, but no moutains. And my cassette is 11-28. If I had mountains, I would either go smaller on the 34T Q-ring or bigger on the 28T cog.

Enduro bearings. I could feel the difference, but my old bearings were shot. Sorry, no benchmark. But the latex tubes - slippery like butter - and I felt it before I left the driveway.

I implemented most of the new tweaks and went out for a 100-mile ride today, because it was sunny and in the fifties. All I have to say is, "I can't believe it's not butter!"

Regarding your sickness, I would guess severe dehydration in addition to gastrointestinal distress. Kevin Gambill took 4th overall at the 2015 N24HC with 462.3 miles. You did better. He was feeling so bad (worse than I was) that he had to lay on the floor at the rewards ceremony.

Good point. Big chain ring, small cogs, short cranks, and possibly unstable ride mean Larry will be going fast enough to warrant body armor.
