Riding in Yakima sounds like fun. I’m game. I’ve only been through there once so I’d be relying on local knowledge. I bet that would be a pretty centrally located (and warm/dry) spot for quite a few PNW riders actually. Portland is also good.

Glad you made it @OregonJohn. Judging by your name I’m cheering on another PNW tribe member as well! Welcome.

    V20 rusty nuts and bolts

That is a lot of rust. I’ve had several Cruzbike over the years, some ridden in all conditions and let drip dry - in the Pacific Northwest - none have ever looked anything close to that bad. something is definitely wrong there.

    Cruzbike S40 in Nairobi, Kenya!

@ak-tux - this post is awesome! You look great and so happy on the bike (homepage story image). @billyk is a tenacious magician on this one - so happy to have heard the resolution of such a long and hard road - so many false-flats on this particular climb. :) So stoked for you!!

    Gone but not forgotten...

I think the answer is “it is there”.

    Gone but not forgotten...

What @3bs said. Someone like you with clear, concise, and honest evaluations of your experiences is more valuable criteria in this Tribe than the bike you ride. I mean @RojoRacing is on a rowing machine these days - at least you have wheels. :D

    Chain Reaction

Glad to see that this is a mechanical, and therefore, repairable issue. Being denied never feels good but I don’t expect you will be stopped permanently.

A 1000 km solo brevet around the south of Norway

Here I was enjoying the ride story, and the chatter of caffeine gum and in the end it comes around to my backyard (Seattle). Puts a nice cap on the read. I recognize the name Stavanger too, pretty sure my uncle (surname Jacobson) has family in Stavanger.

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

Jason, I’m not anywhere near peak shape and I’ve had four attempts with a grand total of 15 sec difference between them (the last one was 13 sec faster). So, yeah - tight grouping. I’m hoping to see some more 5-10-15 second improvements in the next few weeks. Might throw on a rear wheel disc...

    Cruzbike Time Trial Challenge 2020

So my dad (JimZ) and I jumped on the wagon last weekend starting week 7. The fun thing we have to report is that this was his first time on these racing bikes. when I first bought my Silvio 1.0 in 2008 he tried it and swore it off “too hard to balance”. then when the T50 came out he bought one...

    Absolute Black Premium Oval Chainrings

Is it a cognitive bias to both agree with @trplay(and your local rider) and still think 'there is a difference'? Maybe. :) I really like to 'check-in' with myself when I hear things like that coming from such respectable folks and experience. My reasoning is: if it is different then by...

    Absolute Black Premium Oval Chainrings

There is a difference - but it is marginal. You *might* see some of those benefits with these rings but they don’t offer you the different mounting hole options that you will likely require because the “bottom” of your stroke is different than the “bottom”’of an upright bike. even a tall or a...

    The new-ish V

A future in investigative science? no...just many hours spent huddled over those bikes outfitting them with those reflective boom stickers and wheel stickers. :) I guessed Jim's bike because of the headrest - those weren't part of the bike on RAAM (IIRC). I just didn't guess that Kevin would...

    The new-ish V

can't trust the groupset since you said it's newly built up. But...because the seat has screws in the seat-pan I'm guessing Jim or Maria's RAAM winning frame. Guessing Jim's because the stickers at the top of the boom are inside the clamp - he runs taller than. most.

    The new-ish V

That front triangle at least was either A) in the RAAM or B) owned/assembled by @ratz. I recognize those stickers. And if it's not Ratz' bike then I very well may have attached those stickers. :) I don't know if the background of this pic is Kentucky or South Carolina or New England...that...
