    Knee issue - need suggestions

use shoes without cleats and petals from pedaling innovations that support both the ball and heal of your foot, so you don't need super stiff bike shoes and cleats that cause repetitive stress injury to your knees.

    Helmets with visors

I use the FlexFit Shield, purchased on Amazon for about $40. It is polarized so the view is vivid, with high contrast. I tried other shields that were not polarized and the view was less than good. Attached pic, it is attached with included velcro and will even fit under an existing brim.

Which wheel size do you like best?

Final configuration for 650B wheels includes Marathon Supreme HS469 size 42-584 tires. I always thought skinny lightweight tires made the ride faster, but not so on the Quest. The 42mm heavyweight at 65 psi are much faster and make the bike more stable on rough surfaces and during turning ( also...

Which wheel size do you like best?

I am not the first to use 650b wheels but maybe the first to say the bump in performance is equal to the bump in performance when going from the spring shock to the air shock. Move over S40 here come the Quest (650b Quest that is). I am using the Kojak 35 for tires and what a ride!

Which wheel size do you like best?

I just put 650B(27.5in) on my quest and they are very nice, more role and less bumpy than the 26in they replaced. Picture included:

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

A couple of questions, where's the kick-stand? and would the front fork accommodate a dual drive hub? John

    Quest3 front wheel

I am considering replacing the stock 26in wheels with 700C. Does the front wheel require some dish or is offset built into frame? Looking at the 26in wheel its seems as if no dish was required but may be different than using a 700C wheel.

    Tune up assistance

I've owned a Quest for about three years, got a lot of miles on it and can say that maintenance is required to keep it running properly. The Dual Drive front hub does need to be checked once in a while to make sure it is not out of adjustment, i.e. loose, which will result in some play in the...

Police report error after motor vehicle collision

I was involved in a similiar case with the CHP a few years ago. First off, if no bike lane on the road then you are allowed up to 1/2 the lane, unless you considered it unsafe and then you are allowed to take the entire lane. You are NOT required to ride on the shoulder! Remember that the CHP...

    Power to the pedal

Replaced my current flat pedals with Pedal Innovations Catalyst pedal. Noticeable difference on starts and climbs, can now keep up with upright bike buddies on climbs. The Catalyst pedal is designed to support ball and heel of the foot, other pedals only support the ball of foot, even the...

    Quest chainwheel

Moving chainring to the outside changes the chain line about 1/2 to 1 inch, and in my case it corrected a shifting problem I have had since purchasing the Quest.

    Quest chainwheel

Yes Qcx1 is more oval and has thick/thin teeth to keep chain from falling off. The reason I mentioned the air shock is that the Qcx1 does the same for lateral movement of legs, it smooths out the high, low push spots when pedaling. The correct adjustment holes to use are rider dependent ,i.e. leg...

    Quest chainwheel

I used the "John T" method of adjustment, which is max ring equivalent at max leg output, which is what I had on the original ring. I eye-balled what I had set on the Cruzbike ring and slightly adjusted it for the angle of push on the pedal. You know that when using on a upright bike the large...

    Quest chainwheel

Decided to replace the original elliptical chainwheel with a Rotor Q-cx1, used a 42 tooth as original and what a difference. Much better power transfer and a smoother stroke. I have had a slight problem with the de-rail shifting since purchasing the bike, but the new chainwheel solved the...

    Quest on AIR

Chain Wheel I started having some back pain after installing my new A5-RR1 150mm shock, the quest seemed harder to ride on starts and uphill. So I did some research online and discovered that the elliptical bump is "retarded" 90 degrees for upright bikes vs recumbent bikes. Since my Quest is...

    Quest on AIR

air shock The A5-RE is a single chamber so the ride may not be adjusted to your exact preference. The A5-RR1 has a negative air chamber plus the main chamber. I have used both and can say that the A5-RR1 will give you a nicer ride. I also changed the length of the shock about 30 mm. to 150...

    Loose Headset on Quest

Headset loose? Ecobiker, I have posted a procedure for righting the headset using a jig that I invented, look in the quest forum and you will find the info. The headset is hard to tighten because the steerer extension tube is a press-on fit and would be better, in my opinion, if it were a...
