I know that fixed gear is in but...

I think that is the son of somebody we know very well...

    Project Luge

It looks just as you see it. A few things keep me from finishing it: 1. It weighs about a million pounds because of all the steel parts. 2. If we had lots of bike paths around here it'd be fun to ride. Unfortunately, you'd take your life in your hands every time you rode it where I live. 3. I...

    BROL Bike of Year Awards

At this point, I think we'd just like to get our bike back.

    MBB Lowracer

The Razor will generate buzz until someone actually rides it for any distance, or tries to make it go fast. Anyone who's developed a Cruzbike kit bike to ride well can tell you what's wrong with that design, and it's quite a list. You need Cruzbike design elements to fix it, and they're locked...

    MBB Lowracer

It's not a belly. It's "forward assembly airflow re-attachment surface" and it has to be carefully developed. :D I think the bike in the original picture may have been built by the builder of the "Speculoos" over-shoulder frame bikes, in which case that fellow has pretty vast experience in...

    Cassette Clearance

Jamie, What is the distance from the seat base (where the backrest and seat pan are welded together) and the bottom bracket axle when the bike is set up to your x-seam? Your component set is the same as the BROL review bike's, and there was no interference with the chain on that bike (it was...

Very nice, Jamie! Green housings... unique! I guess somebody's gotta do a blue one now...

    Powdercoating your Silvio frame

Lev, Truly beautiful. Well done indeed.

    MBB Lowracer

I don't wanna seem like one of those BROL non-riding experts... I expect there will be more develpment in the steering/hand position area after some riding, but it is beautiful and lightweight. I'll be interested to see how it progresses. Thanks for the link, Mark!

Bill! You have turned your Cruzbike into a Corvair!

    Cruzbike slam on ActionBent site

I think this is it. There are many, many things wrong with this design, but it is pretty to the uneducated eye, isn't it? I think Sun was testing the waters.

    Cruzbike slam on ActionBent site

Actionbent was a Cruzbike retailer for a short time. Perhaps there should be a question as to what the "problem" was with the bikes they represented to customers as a dealer and sold, and to what degree they're obligated to solve that "problem". They may not have read their whole dealer...

    Front Disk

Hi Jon, The cable pull distance for V-brakes and mechanical discs is the same. That little label is a generic one to provent people from using the levers with cantilever brakes or road calipers, which use a different pull ratio. I use the same levers for my dics SR proto that I used with it...

    Ticking noise

Warwick, First, thanks for being so thorough and documenting what you've looked at. Since you hear this noise seated in the cockpit, and I assume you can't make it happen on the workstand, here's what I'd look at: 1. Check the bottom bracket and make sure it's tight in the shell. Tightening...

Sofrider v2 + HPV Streamer fairing

Amen. I have little pieces of "tuition" all over the garage. A milling machine can turn useful metal stock into worthless little trinkets at a breathtaking pace! Glad you were able to solve the problem. The Streamer is a great fit for the SR! Best,

    Poor Man's Silvio?

Now, there you go! Just got a piece of 1" aluminum stock in... will solve your rear brake situation shortly! The Trek 220 has gone through several iterations... it's great donor! Now wouldn't that look good with a fairing... :D

    Bummer

Amen, hate those. I had to soak a set of GP4000s in the bathtub for half-hour to get 'em on the BROL bike Campy wheels. And go to church and apologize afterwards... Chucksbikes is going out of business, I snagged a set of xero X-1 campys for $168, but I don't see it listed now (which means I...

example of a bad fairing attempt :( ..ideas for attempt #2?

Mark, Bully for you running multple tests on each version. It's really hard to get folks to do that, and it's the only way to get a real answer. The standard deviations for each run were: 1: 0.115470054 2: 1.258305739 3: 0.251661148 This means while runs 1 and three are somewhat comparable...

    Silvio: Campagnolo Veloce/Comp Triple

Hi Patrick, This problem has been solved with a revised top front tube with more mounting points for the front derailleur. I switched the bike back to the 52-42-30 Campy Comp Triple and it works a charm. I'm 5'6" with a 28" inseam. Best, Doug
