    Cruzn Trav 1 new build

Wow, very nice. I love deep-rim wheels on these bikes. I think you will be very pleased with your crankset choice, too. Might be time to move to Perth. Enjoy your bike! What is it you guys say? "What a rippa!" best...

    Showing off @ LBS...

Bwaahaaa! Well done, Marc.... I've decided to delve back into my kit bikes. I really like the freedom to try stuff with the kit; you can really build anything you want with it. As much as I love my red kit bike, I think I will disassemble it and try something new. We have a newly-opened bike...

    Silvio II and other

Hi Dan, Belated welcome... As for using the Silvio for Brevets and commuting, no problem. If you're a real fanatic, you might use two sets of wheels and tires, one with nice sporty 700c x 23mm tires, and one with 700c x 28mm touring/commuter tires, but a good set of 700c x 25mm's will serve...

    Silvio Newcomer

Hi Pattrick, Welcome and please feel free to post any questions you might have. I'm not a high-performance rider; I can tell you my Silvio climbs better than any other recumbent I have ridden (and there are 14 recumbents in my garage right now). As for height issues, we've got those handled...

    new and improuved giant cruzbike

Hi Jack, I'll not be calling the ambulance just yet lol. However, you have a good analysis tool for your Giant parked right next to it: the Silvio! I was looking at your plywood seat brace. Compare it to the frame structure in the Silvio, where the seat pan and the large-diameter short tube...

    SRAM Red Silvio by Levendis

Yer gonna love the Vittorias... got 'em on my Silvio and rode the MS150 on them. Pump 'em up hard and they're really fast; let out 10 or 20 psi and they're supple as a leather arm chair and do chipseal surprisingly well (the suspension helps). Have Fun,

    2009 Greetings

Happy New Year to All Y'all... Hoping to see some more kit work from some folks this year. We learned a lot about Cruzbike dynamics when all we had out there was the kit, and we're still supporting it as we grow our product line. One issue in the kit world is the increasing scarcity of...

    Its About Time

Ahhh, Lev... You have a good eye for bike aesthetics. I can hardly wait to see what your Silvio ends up looking like. You're using SRAM red components... very nice stuff. I've wanted to capture the elegance of singlespeeds in a Cruzbike design. Please make any comments concerning your...

    Softrider - fork not 'suspended'

Hi Wordy, Sorry, out of town on business... When the shock is unloaded (static, without a rider) the shock "bellows" type cover should be about 1.5" to 1.75" tall. The shock is pretty stiff, so you may not be able to compress it until you're actually riding. Keep me posted on anything else...

    Silvio Colors!

Additional clarity on heating the fork... as I remember the powdercoat melt/cure heating process can touch 400F. The air chamber in the shock assembly for the the front fork won't survive the heat and isn't designed to be easily removable... Welcome to our merry band, by the way... Best...

    Sofrider "V 1.2"

Wow! How cool is that?!!!!!!!!!!!!! More details about the cool chainstay assembly, man! Very well done!

    Silvio speeds

Sounds like a very athletic riding environment! I should tell you I've not built a triple like that one yet, and your questions about shifting are good ones. The Ultegra cage is about as long as you can get without going to "historical" parts like Suntour... The principal driver with a small...

    Silvio speeds

Ward, Shimano parts, with their cross-compatibility between MTB and road components, can allow about any drivetrain you want. That being said, Is this a lot of long hills at mid-grade, short and steep, long and steep? You can get a gear range that allows anything by building a 53/39/24...

hitting thigh on top of v brake?

Is it the caliper itself, or the "lead tube" (sometimes called a "noodle") that connects the caliper to the cable housing? Those are available with tighter curves to tuck the cable in closer to the head tube...
