I would post some pictures before you try anything to see if maybe you have it set up wrong or to loose. Generally speaking if everything is done correctly the boom shouldn't move.

The headset issue was resolved. I didn't tighten it correctly when I built the bike it seems, because after I had the bike shop tightened it has been fine. My S40 has been great and I don't think you have anything to worry about.

I don't use a head rest, but there threads that discuss there use on the forum.

I'd use a bike frame builder to do the work if you try it.

I got back on a df bike this week after almost a year. I traveled to San Francisco and couldn't bring the s40, so I rented a bike for the week. The first 5 to 10 seconds felt pretty weird but after a minute it was like I never left.
