Bent rim (Velocity Aileron) - ignore, repair or replace?

I wouldn't attempt to fix it. Ride it as is, or replace. The same thing happened to my velocity aileron within the first 200 miles of my 3500 mile tour-- I met a pothole disguised as a puddle which gave the wheel a pinch. I couldn't use it as tubeless anymore, but otherwise, it made no...

Are FLO wheels really this slow...??

As for trying, at least they're cheap :) I have a box/packet already, actually, I'm just too "lazy" to swap wheels and try them. They have enough stiction that I don't think they flutter much, at least when new. OTOH, because they don't have a hard-stop, they also can't provide (much) lift...

Are FLO wheels really this slow...??

Oh, and https://nullwinds.com/pages/spoke-fins I actually like the concept as having the aspect ratio change as a result of lateral forces makes a lot of sense...

Are FLO wheels really this slow...??

It is scary enough without a big horizontal sail.

Are FLO wheels really this slow...??

It creates a wave in the air near the ground, for sure.

    Crash number 2

Those casual bike paths actually have higher accident rates, FWIW.

I liked the comment, but that doesn't mean I like the fact behind it :)

    Parking Stabilization ideas

Rubber band anti-flop. I leave this on permanently. It lets me move the bike with one hand, from the rear. Thread: https://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/tiltmaniacs-s30v2-build.12220/ Link showing mounting (I use thumbscrews to hold the seat on below, which provides for a nice mounting place...

    Dialing in a S30

Have you seen the 'rubber band' approach to keeping the bike stable?

    Shipping an S30?

I'd also done shipping of my S30 in an airline-compliant baggage. Pipe insulation is key. After all, a tube is essentially just a pipe measured from the outside instead of measured from the inside :) Use bolts or similar to keep the forks from being compressed (sideways). This is one of the...

    Fun with crank lengths

For those who wish to experiment and aren't as handy, there is the option of the powercrank, which allows length adjustment with an Allen key and a minute or two. http://m.powercranks.com/i/http%3A%2F%2Fpowercranks.com%2F%2Fassets%2Fimages%2FM8BasicblkAlumDM.png

That bit was under the scan? Ouch. Glad it didn't get infected. That could have been bad!

    hot, very hot

I've had 3 different DaBrims. On long tours I've had mixed success. The DaBrim often needs to be re-adjusted in order to stay on the helmet. When descending very quickly, it can warp and either attempt to fly off the helmet (top), or attempt to prevent you from seeing the road. Keep in mind I'm...

    hot, very hot

Huh. It has been one of the cooler helmets overall for me, though it is supplanted by a newer helmet (the Vanquish) anyway. I use the white/silver color (on all my helmets), which may help, but the meta point is really that any helmet with a ''shield" will protect your face better than will a...

    Hand/Wrist problems

I use the following mirror, which allows basically the whole bar area to be used for my hands: https://www.performancebike.com/shop/ultra-light-bike-mirror-40-1315 Cheap, light, and convex to allow for seeing stuff better. If you'd like to use the drops, it is a worthy (and cheap in price...
