Silvio 2.1 with seat MOD - Excellent Condition SOLD!!

Within a half-inch of mine, then. I'm 5'5", so I imagine the medium seat would work better for me.

Silvio 2.1 with seat MOD - Excellent Condition SOLD!!

Boy, that's tempting, especially with the seat mod. If I could just get my husband's Kettwiesel sold...several folks looking, but none of them serious... What x-seam is the bike set up for?

    The Longleaf Trace

Small world! I'm from Byhalia, 10 miles down I-22, and go up to visit my family several times a year. You want to go ride Shelby Farms at Thanksgiving? I can bring both bikes. :D

    The Longleaf Trace

I'm not sure that even cyclists or pedestrians get to use the Old Vicksburg Bridge, except for special events. I imagine they'd enjoy having it accessible as part of a trail. Here's a bit more history: http://www.johnweeks.com/river_mississippi/pages/lmiss08.html The Longleaf Trace...

    The Longleaf Trace

I'd say so! Didn't get to experience that, but some of the other riders did. The picture in the Vicksburg Post article I linked shows both cyclists and train. The old bridge has been closed to vehicular traffic for a couple of decades; apparently the locals would like to see it reopened...

    QX 100 rear shock upgrade

I replaced the Kind Shock 261 on my Quest with the Kind A5-RE air shock, 125mm. A couple of other folks have used the Kind A5-RR1, the next level up. If I'd known the air shock would make so much difference in the ride, I'd have spent the extra $25 for the RR1. Had to order it from AliExpress...

    The Longleaf Trace

Love it! Well done, and great write-up. "Grampas on recumbents" sounds like a good name for a retro rock band. :D While you were off smoking roadies, I was struggling and gasping my way up the Vicksburg hills at the Bricks and Spokes ride. The first 15 miles, out-and-back across the...

    Be careful out there...

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately it's all too easy to get tangled up in a group. It doesn't have to be large; IIRC, a local couple was out riding, just the two of them, and he made a mistake that caused her to crash. The local DF group sometimes gets into packs as large as 30 riders and won't...

Finally got me a vendetta !!

@Layne -- absolutely! Reinforcements would be most welcome. I can relate to a lot of your story as well. I started the recumbent adventure on tadpole trikes 10 years ago, after advancing from MTB, to hybrid, to road bike over the preceding 15 years. Continued riding the road bike some, since...

    Falling over

That took me a while, too. It started as moments of Just Riding A Bike instead of the constant nervous commentary inside my head. Gradually those moments grew longer and more frequent. Now, the only time I think much about it is when I'm riding one-handed. Even that's becoming more natural. I...

White Mountain Double Century and Final Race for the CA Triple Crown Stage Race

Retroactively changing the rules of an event because they didn't like the bike the winner rode. Lack of integrity, indeed. Or, as we say in the South, "that's just plain tacky. Bless their little hearts." (trust me, that's a severe insult):rolleyes: Great job, Jason!

SOLD! Conversion kit for sale 15 Sept 2016

Keith May (kmay on BROL) notified me this afternoon that he has his Cruzbike conversion kit packaged up and ready to sell. Interested parties may contact him by private message on BROL. Y'all have dibs before he lists it elsewhere. ETA: Whoever buys it, please let me know so I can close this...

Bike MS New Bern, NC 9/10-9/11 - First English Century on V20

That's a nice-looking setup. There goes another of my objections to a more-reclined seat. The 33-degree Silvio is calling a little bit louder.

    Cyclists Curing Cancer Century 2016

The Cyclists Curing Cancer Century (with 62, 50, and 25-mile options also) is a fundraiser for the cancer center at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Miss. It's spearheaded by an oncologist who is also an avid road cyclist. The ride begins and ends in Clinton, Miss., at the Baptist Healthplex at...

Suggestions for a new bike carrier

Following up after using the carriers for a couple of months: The Thule T2 is great for transporting one or two Cruzbikes. The over-the-wheel hooks make it easy to load the bikes, and they attach solidly. What I didn't anticipate was that the bikes would sit up so high on my Honda Accord. It's...

    Tanglefoot Trail

Sounds good to me! Here's what the Houston trailhead looked like in July 2013, per Google Street View. Other than adding the pavilion next to the "No Motor Vehicles" sign, nothing much has changed...

    Tanglefoot Trail

I had a chance Saturday to check out part of the new Tanglefoot rail-trail that runs the 43 miles from New Albany to Houston in northeast Mississippi. If you live close enough to venture over for a ride, be aware that Houston provides no amenities at the south trailhead. Unlike the "whistlestop"...

    Silvio 1.5 - $1700 - Harvest, AL

He was having problems with recumbutt on the Silvio 1.5, despite much adjustment, plus it was a rehab bike. Maybe he'll put the funds toward a Vendetta frameset. :D
