    Cruzbike RAAM 2017 4-person Team

No, I'm pretty sure Mark Sisson has never had a heart attack. Do you have a reputable source for these rumors?

2016 Mid-Atl Century reports and videos

I was telling my husband about this description, and he said, "Sounds like Yoda." Hmmm...

To chamois, or not to chamois, that is the question

Still wearing the Terry Liberty shorts I had bought before getting into Cruzbikes. Almost knee-length, a little looser through the thigh. Thought about removing the chamois, but I still occasionally ride my road bike or my son's MTB. I also found a pair of Gore Alp-X Lady MTB shorts on clearance...

Suggestions for a new bike carrier

Update: I checked with my very young, green-behind-the-ears* Honda service advisor after a couple of days. He claimed that only the owner of the dealership, who was out of town for a week, could authorize restitution for the damage, and promised to call me back ASAP. Two weeks after the carrier...

    Transporting a Vendetta

Haven't tried the Seasucker. I didn't want to put a strap-on carrier on my Honda Accord, so I had a Curt hitch installed with a 1 1/4" receiver. Can't tow with it (not that I wanted to), but it'll hold a two-bike carrier just fine. Here's the thread where I was asking about carriers last...

    Converting Quest 559 to 406

I have a short chainstay I'd be happy to get rid of if you change your mind. I converted my Quest from 451 to 507 (24"), requiring the longer chainstay.

Your Max Speed on a Cruzbike

A relatively sedate 36.4 mph on the Silvio 1.5, matching my top known speed on the road bike. No pedaling, no braking, no breathing... A comfortable 28.2 mph on the Q507, pedaling hard on a shorter, less-steep downhill, with a tailwind.

I grew up in north Mississippi, very near Memphis, and still have family up there.

    BBB 2016

They do favor, don't they? I bought mine from @ReklinedRider as a frameset with handlebars, brakes, and brifters. Don't know where he got it.

    BBB 2016

How about a two-for-one deal? The ninth annual Bikes, Blues and Bayous ride in the Mississippi Delta town of Greenwood took place August 6. A record 947 riders from 17 states turned out for the flat, hot, humid event. More than 500 of those riders chose the metric century loop, while the rest...

    Riding with DF groups

I rode the first half of Tuesday night's "very hot Parkway ride" solo, catching up to the B group just as they were leaving the turnaround. One of the Thursday-night regulars offered me a place in the line, since I hadn't had a chance to rest. I've been careful to let other riders know that I...

    Uh oh...V20 back in stock!

Same here. I'm about 200 miles south of you. It was 96F (35.5C) yesterday at 6 p.m. for the Tuesday-night 20-mile group ride, with a heat index of 107F (42C), and unpleasantly humid. At least five of the 40-50 riders developed heat exhaustion within an hour.

    Slow Ride

This was after I'd left Minter City and turned back south, probably between 32 and 35 miles into the ride.

    Slow Ride

At Bikes, Blues & Bayous last year, an older yellow Vendetta came flying by me. I cheered and hollered like some kind of nut. The rider finished the 62-mile and left before I finished the 46, so I didn't have a chance to talk with him, or look at his V more closely.

    Silvio

I strapped a Twofish Quick Cage on top of the boom. I'm not quite to where I can pull the bottle without thinking about it, but I don't wobble all over the path any more. Replacing the bottle is much easier. I've always had trouble with my trapezius muscles cramping when I reach down and back to...

    Uh oh...V20 back in stock!

Bless your heart! You might have set a record for miles per Arte Johnson. :p I still use pedals on the Silvio that have one platform side and one SPD side, so I don't have to clip in until I make it past stall speed. What part of "Nawth" Alabama do you hail from? If it isn't too much of a...

has anyone tried bars like this?

I went looking for an image of those old flipped bars, and found this post full of permutations and aberrations. IMO, Sheldon Brown's double-handlebar bike takes the cake. The photo at the bottom of the page even has upside-down brifters, on a little different bar configuration...
