Boom sock - work in progress

Somebody was also talking about closing off the area under the seat just in front of the rear wheel. That wouldn't take much fabric. Would that help with aerodynamics as well?

    T-bone

Honestly Larry, I would love to have a BMW like that. But I'm not willing to pay the price (again). ;) Getting hit once is enough in one cycling career. Anyway, that's a beautiful automobile.

Boom sock - work in progress

This is an excellent idea. You could turn this into an add-on item and sell it to Vendetta riders. If it looks cool and makes me faster, I would buy one.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

They look pricey at $600 list price (cranks only - no rings): http://www.cart32hostingred.com/cgi-bin/cart32.exe/ROTORCOMPONENTSLLC-store?catid=260448700&prodid=256984350 I purchased SRAM Apex 150 mm cranks, 53/38 Rotor aero Q-rings, credit for round rings, and shipping for $485 from...

XQL Q-rings .vs. Reg Q-ring .vs. Circular Chain Rings

Yes, it seems to me that the best way to compare the rings' differences would be to set up a controlled environment where all input variables are held constant except for the chain rings. Then the bike could be mounted on a trainer (which would have to be capable of measuring power itself...

    T-bone

I'm glad you're okay. I was t-boned once. The driver and her passenger were busy blabbing at a stop sign and they put the pedal to the metal so they could jump out into traffic like a 737 leaving the runway. At the same time, I was passing directly in front of their car. I was thrown into...

On the bright side, it looks like you might be getting a beautiful new BMW Z4M Coupe: http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/front-disc-wheel.7896/page-2#post-28730

    Metric century

As an example of what NOT to do (but okay for training purposes), I went out yesterday and rode 36 miles into a strong headwind to meet my teammates. Then we rode hard on the hills for 35 miles. Then I rode 39 miles home. I had a total of 110 miles and I have to say I was tired. Great...

    Metric century

So you did 62 miles in about 4 hours, which is an average of 15.5 mph. My opinion is that, if you can do that, then you could keep on going and do 75 miles the first day and then 75 miles the second day. From a physiological perspective, you are burning mostly fat for energy at an easy pace...

Please recommend some video editing software. I would like to edit AVI file on a Mac. What do you guys use and recommend?

Abbot, it would be cool to see a drawing of a Vendetta superhero character (similar to Superman or Batman of course) riding a Vendetta. I can see it in my mind's eye.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

I had circular 53/39 rings and 170 mm cranks. I now have 53/38 Q-rings and 150 mm cranks. My cassette is still 11-28. I am 5'-9.5". I've got it tuned in nicely, and it is working really well - except for slow, steep climbs. It's not really hilly around here, but when I have to climb...

Are Vendetta's really fast or what??????

Check out D3O first. It is an advanced material. It acts like a soft rubber and is comfortable to wear. But upon impact, it hardens to protect your body. You can buy pads for different body parts like hips and elbows. I have a pair of elbow pads and they work nicely.

Are Vendetta's really fast or what??????

Wow Larry! Anything over 35mph scares the crap out of me. You should consider wearing some advanced D3O body armor on your elbows and hips in case you fall down and go boom. It would save your skin and bones at that speed.

    Vendetta V2 (Large) for sale

Wow, that's a wicked-looking beauty. Riding a V takes a lot of practice and it takes time for your brain to rewire. Once you put in the time and effort (and pain if you crash), it is totally worth it. All of the sudden, the stability will start to click in and you will be able to ride on...

    Components for a Silvio S30

Bob, do I understand you correctly regarding the "biggest that fits on 110BCD"? I have a 110BCD 53/38 pair of Q-rings on the bike now.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Thanks, that's good to know. I set mine somewhere in the middle, but I don't remember which cog. That's good for everyone to know because I wondered what was going on at first until I realized what was happening with the chain angle.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

I noticed that the first engaged tooth changes on the big Q-ring depending on which cassette gear the chain is currently on. This is because the angle of the chain changes when a different cassette gear is used even though the cranks stay in the same dead spot position. So, which cassette gear...
