Cruzbike V20 Vendetta Recumbent Bike For Sale - off market

I've sold a couple of Cruzbikes over the years, starting each time by posting it here on the forum at what I believed were fair prices. After no real action, I moved them over to eBay, where they sold quickly for the same asking price. While I don't love eBay's listing fees, their browsing...

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

Once you get over the initial heebee-geebees, I'd recommend going clipless. Since the feet are part of the steering, having the feet connected directly helps to make handling the bike more consistent and predictable. If your feet aren't connected, they can shift or slip off, and any such...

    Brand New - Cruzbike S30 - $3,200 -sold

This frame will not work with a Viscoset because the bearing cups are incorporated into the head tube, like the older V20's. The Viscoset uses press-fit bearing cups. Man, I'm kinda surprised this frameset is still on the market.

Seeking advice for new V20c rider

Ditto. I also started on the V20, and it took me about 1000 miles before I didn't have to think (much) about what I was doing. I did spend some time wondering if I'd made an expensive mistake, but brute stubbornness got me through those first couple months. "I can do this, dammit!" That was...

    Brand New - Cruzbike S30 - $3,200 -sold

The V20 and S30 front ends are the same. The S30, when new like this one, does come with the older style chainstay that clamps around the bb cups. The newer, more inboard-clamping V20 chainstay is a worthy switch and easy to do, as long as CB has them in stock.

    Brand New - Cruzbike S30 - $3,200 -sold

I'm running Schwalbe Pro One 30mm on my S30, and they fit with about 3mm clearance all around, front and back. I'm using a disc brake up front, and a caliper brake on the rear, and I did need to shave the lower edge of the caliper brake down just a hair, as the new tire was barely skimming it...

    Brand New - Cruzbike S30 - $3,200 -sold

I'll add to the pitch, as an S30 owner... I've owned most of the Cruzbike lineup, from the V20 to the Q series. The Q was a good commuter, which I replaced with an S40--an even better commuter. But compared to the V20, which is where I started with CB, the S40 gave me horrible recumbutt and...

    KOM Thieves :)

I think too, that riders on DF bikes have a short-distance advantage in that those riders are in a better physical position to put out bigger watts, compared to the laid-back position that the V puts us in. So a young dude with beefy legs can put out big 500+ watt efforts for a short drag race...

    Clipless Pedal Recommendations Needed

I use double-sided Shimano SPD pedals. Easy in and out, and the cleats are easy to walk in because of the way they nestle into the shoe.

    KOM Thieves :)

Fun conversation to follow. I have about 40 KOMs between my V20 and S30, and I've found that the ones that stick best are the longer ones, like 10 miles and up. And if there's one thing that the V does really well, it's holding a high speed for longer distances.

This question is blasphemous - V20 Seat Angle

I mentioned this as a side remark on a different thread, but if CB did a single, limited run of S30s, built like the current S40, I bet they'd sell pretty quickly and easily, for there are people looking for that 30 degree recline angle. It would probably not make business sense for a small...

Cracked Handlebar Screw Section: Help Needed

Oh, yeah. If you're solid on the S30, getting used to the V20 or S40 won't be an issue.

v20 vs v20c, Front end feel.

I went from a V20 to a V20c. No regrets, but... * The V20c is not much lighter, and that includes the front end. The carbon pieces are cool, more aero and modern looking. But these parts are also pretty beefy, which I imagine is a demand of the frameset design itself. I remember an older...

Cracked Handlebar Screw Section: Help Needed

Chiming in a little late... I've owned all three, the V20, S30, and S40. For me, the S30 has been only a tiny bit slower than the V on flats and rollers, and it slightly outclimbs the V, perhaps because the less reclined seat gives a little more to push against while climbing. Handling was...

    Why drop bars?

Happy to help you make your choice. That gradual descent is the 4% average grade of Neil Road, just outside of Chico, CA. It isn't on any century routes, but sees regular use from the locals. Happy riding!

    New to me Cruzbike S40

I just did the Davis Double on my V20c three weeks ago--my third time. I wouldn't do it on a DF bike, but 10 hours ride time, 11:20 elapsed time, in total comfort the whole way? The V makes a rider want to take on such things.

No longer newbie - still struggling

I'll second that. These bikes are easier to ride and handle while clipped in. I'd go for a double-sided pedal, like Speedplay or Shimano SPD mt. pedals.

Boom Cracked at Handlebar clamp While Climbing

Definitely contact Robert Holler at Cruzbike. He has helped me with parts needs more than once. It sounds like he can set you up with a replacement.

Tire pressure and wobble over 32mph

Yes. I learned years ago, after tearing a tendon near my elbow, to relax my deathgrip on the V20. Once I did that, my whole body relaxed, my spin smoothed out, my line became much straighter, and, oddly enough, my speeds increased, up, down, and flat. I never had what others here are...
