    Vendetta Di2 Users

I had a similar issue finding a QR for my S30, with 135mm hub spacing (the same setup that you describe). The Hope Fatsno QR skewer, 141mm length is perfect, with the threads reaching just to the end of the nut, as they should. The mechanism is smooth and nicely built. The stock CB skewer was...

V20c tire clearance and wheel sizes

My purely anecdotal experience: I went from 20.5mm internal rim spacing with 25mm Scwhalbe Pro Ones on my V20, to 21mm internal rim spacing (so about the same) with 30mm Pro Ones on my V20c. Both bikes are wicked-fast, with the V20c edging out the V20 by a slim margin, which I attribute mostly...

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2023?

One thing I like about Cruzbikers is that they are resourceful and find their own way that works best for them and what they're doing. This makes sense, since it takes some bravery and independence of thought to diverge from the DF paradigm in the first place. We look forward to updates as you...

2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

So true about there being previous discussions (this forum runs deep). I just searched "oval chainrings" and came up with four pages of threads. Easily a whole day of rabbit-hole spelunking for those who are up for it.

2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

My understanding of how oval rings work, which could be totally wrong, is that just as you are heading into the power portion of the pedal stroke (what for me is around 1 o'clock), the chain should be at the tallest portion of the oval. Then you spend the power stroke pulling that tallest...

Headrest on S40 … yes or no?

The hydroform-framed, full suspension Silvios, like the 2.0, have a 27-degree seat angle. The last in that line, the S30, has a seat angle right around 33 degrees (which is probably the difference between the 2.0 having the added stack height of the front suspension, and the S30 having no front...

Headrest on S40 … yes or no?

When I had a S40, I did use the headrest for longer rides, and didn't mind it for shorter commutes. I don't know what brand of helmet you are using, but I solved my dang-this-helmet! issue by switching to the Lazer brand, which places the retention knob at the top of the helmet rather than in...

At it for a month. Things they should have told me (these aren’t gripes)

All good advice. Much of it has already been said here on the forum, but as a scatter, and perhaps buried under layers of threads. Much of it is searchable (for those who have the patience), but I think it is good to occasionally to bring it all back together as a kind of refresh, as...

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2023?

@CruzinCambridge Your S30 can also accept a rear rack, giving you the option to use (and easily remove) regular panniers. I went with the Tubus Airy Ti because I liked it's low weight, high strength, and more minimalist, tucked in profile. It is a bit pricey for a rack, but I tend to take a...

Bike Fit for Power and Muscle Engagement

Your goals are inspiring. I have been on a V20 for seven years, and an S30 (same as yours) for almost six years. My approach to bike fit is highly untechnical, and driven almost entirely by trial-and-error and feel. For me, the most important setting is where to put the bb (while using 160mm...

Ah. Being in Germany does add a layer, for sure. Yes, contact CB directly and they will set you up. For me, their customer support has been excellent.

2022 Vendetta V20c with carbon fiber front end

You will most likely notice a difference, but I also think that the differences will be subtle at most. As a shorter rider, I used the shortest chainstay on both my V20 and S30, which put my bb on both bikes right about where yours is in the pic. The S30 was only ever slightly slower than the...

    Why drop bars?

A flared bar helps to keep the shifters tucked in while still giving the hands and fingers some space apart from the knees as they come whirling through. Put another way, the flare puts the shift lever at such an angle, pointing outward, that when you throw the lever inward you won't be be...

    Why drop bars?

One thing I like about Cruzbikes is how many down-the-rabbit-hole questions there are. Handlebar choice is one of them. There are seemingly dozens of possibilities, and riders find their way to what works best for them over time, some trial and error, and asking around, just as you're doing...

Has anyone upgraded from a Freestyle to an S40 or V20?

Correct. Not that aren't differences from bike to bike, but the mechanics are enough the same that moving from a Freerider to a S40 should be pretty easy. You certainly won't be starting over. And I will echo others in that you will definitely notice the performance upgrade with the S40.

Has anyone upgraded from a Freestyle to an S40 or V20?

Over the last seven years I have owned everything from the V20 to the older Quest (now the Q45). I found it easy to go from one to another, which is to say that once you get used to the mbb design, moving from one variation of it to another should be pretty straightforward. Enjoy!

V20c tire clearance and wheel sizes

I'm running 30c on my V20c, with no fit issues. They roll fast and comfortably I wanted 28c, but could not find what I was looking for at a reasonable price, but the 30's were available and reasonable. If 28 is the new 25, then I figure 30 may as well be the new 28. 32c, while it should fit...

Changing to lower gearing switching to S40

There are several variables here that will make one rider's preferred gear selection less than ideal for another rider. First is probably fitness, closely followed by a rider's mental attitude toward climbing (some just don't like climbing, so their gear selection might lean toward flatter...

    Wheel Recommendation for V20c

Hi Michael, When I first switched over from aluminum to carbon rim brake surfaces, I was skeptical. I had heard stories about weaker braking and carbon rims delaminating under high heat. But I was surprised by how good the braking was, using carbon-specific brake pads such as Swisstop Black...

    Wheel Recommendation for V20c

Oh, and I am currently running 30mm tires (Schwalbe Pro One) on my V20c. I love 'em! I was running 25mm Pro Ones, and wanted to go up to 28, but could not find them for anything less than my right arm. 30's were available, though, and only slightly heavier than the 28's, which are only...
