    A bout of purism

OK... I got on my knees today for the first time to see what sort of improvements are needed aerodynamically and oddly enough the biggest eye sore was the rear derailleur; it's way weird with the smallest sprocket giving the most drag. Even the main housing of the derailleur is like the sail to...

Chicago Bike shop for Vendetta v20c and kickstand

I can help with that, but the build might take a year whilst I test it out. Enjoy that bike... pretty sure it will take your breath away.

    Flat

Basically, if a tubeless tire is a pig to put on then it's a pig to take off. I have had a front flat many times but fortunately I have saved myself all but once. If you have carbon rims then it's like hitting ice... no forgiveness if your rim hits the tarmac. I replace the sealant every 6...

    Need Help Lowering CdA

(The tradeoff with straight arms I found was tendernitus which I had for 2 seasons), if you go this route, try not to strain /sprint uphill. This week I had a great ride and came to a roundabout junction. There were 2 road bikes at the roundabout and I slotted in between them. The first one...

    Need Help Lowering CdA

That's an unusual photo of Larry. I don't see his glasses and he's lost his disc wheel. Where was it taken?

That last one looks like 400g plus... how heavy is it?

    Need Help Lowering CdA

I was thinking about this all day. I have a number of helmets but it all depends where that air flow goes behind me. It was mentioned in another thread something that got me thinking... I get a big box of sand and make an upside down impression of a fender that I want to extend my neck rest...

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2023?

Leg soreness can be reduced by shorter cranks. But performance on top speed gets a hit. Shorter cranks and mid sole cleats make you more aero so the tradeoff isn't that much. In 15 years after going to short cranks , your joints will be less painful. (V20 advise)

Wondering about the fastest, while wide-range, drivetrain

I think the front wheel drive derailleur is fine. I think there was a weak piece of plastic in the forward brifter's gear ratchet that broke but I think it's been upgraded now.

    No hands

Most people aren't symmetrical so expect a wobble. V20c has an improved headset so it would be easier on that.

Where are Cruzbike V20c made? Which country?

I seem to remember Taiwan... the post was some time back when test samples were made. Could be difficult to find it.

Front Wheel Slippage - How Serious is It?

Fastest up the climb at the HPV world championship was a v20 ... sorry if it has been mentioned before. But it's the way you ride and how and which type of tyres you ride with.

    Little tweaks

I tried her tonight and dusk... people were saying "what's that?" It cuts thru the air like a hot knife thru butter. Well a bit better actually. I thought the rear wheel would amplify road noise but as its an aluminium tubular rim (thin rim, 25mm wide and 32 spoke) its as quiet as a mouse. I...

    Little tweaks

I guess it needs to be tight like a drum. Perhaps I need to buy a flame thrower as the hair dryer is on for ages. I remember Jason created his own disc wheel with the use of carbon panels but I've never seen them over here in Spain. Perhaps I could use @ratz plastic coat spray and make that...

    HPV World Championship in Austria

It's interesting to see Alain's arm positions. Certainly not straight arm positioning and nice and relaxed even at that speed. Amazing

    V20c Build Diary 2023 edition.

I'm always incredibly impressed by your presentations and food for thought. And there was me thinking if I get one of these new frames I would just give it a coating of protection car spray ceramico!

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2023?

Unfortunately , pain can be exhausting to say the least. I remember reading @Tor Hovland approach to PBP. He paced it until the end but one stop and then went max. I find that if I am horizontal I don't digest food like I am on a road bike... unfortunately everything comes into play with such an...

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2023?

@Derek "They all made the connection that this person must be disabled" That's just your interpretation. In fact they are to support the valiant to give them encouragement. ... and you know that. I think it's amazing that you travelled half way around the world and trained to do this. You are...
