    New V20, New to Cruzbike

Unless there has been a design change, from my experience with a V20, 46 is the largest usable chain ring with the Wickwerks adapter.

    New V20, New to Cruzbike

I have been running with 30/46 chain rings using the Wickwerks adapter on my V20. Works great. The only chain drop was when I accidently pushed both the FD and RD buttons at the same time.

    V20 build

You are correct. I did not mean to post that in this thread. I meant to post to the "Getting off the Fence" thread. I am still pretty loopy due to all the drugs. I have no idea how or why I posted here.

    V20 build

Darn! Just when I was getting to be reasonable decent at riding the V20, then this happend. Doing hill work, going full tilt up a 5 mile long hill. Some traffic came up on me so I shifted my position even farther to the right of the white line. Hit something that I could not see (probably...

    Break the 60KM/HR record

Thanks! Just curious how the calculated values compare with measured values. I realize that there are many variables. I have three data points from a 6 mile flat loop, on no/light wind days. 21 w/10 mph, 57 w/15 mph, 122 w/19.9. Using quadratic regression, 220 w would get me 25 mph, slower...

    Break the 60KM/HR record

For you folks with power meters, I would be interested in how much power it takes to ride a given speed. My computer calculated that at an average speed 19.9 mph on a 6 mile flat loop on a no wind day, my average power was 122 watts. I ride a V20 with 700x28 Specialized tires, two water...

    Getting Off the Fence

Nice day for a 40 mile ride on the Banks - Vernonia Trail, in Northwestern Oregon.

Preferred method to transport your Cruzbike?

2017 Ford Escape Fold down the back seat, push the passenger seat back forward, slide the V20 in. No disassembly required.

2019 Cruzbike Summer Time Trial Challenge

Too bad I did not know about this until it was over. That is something I would like to try. Of course, I will be a little embarrassed at people checking out my lame times. I have already scoped out a potential route, just in case this is run again.

    New race case?

Looks good. I need to carry a full set of goretex and a polypro top for off season riding. I am thinking that getting that stuff through the side hatch would be problematic, at best. It looks like the water bottle holders would take up needed internal space, then there are the holes in the...

    Break the 60KM/HR record

Interesting 250 W at a cadence of 80-90. As opposed to me, 109 W at cadence of 105-120. Maybe I should pedal slower and push harder?

    Break the 60KM/HR record

Well, this has been interesting. Certainly explains why I am so much slower than what V20 riders report on this forum. I do not have power meters, and rely on my bike computer for power output, which makes several assumptions. Although it is probably not accurate, it is quite repeatable. So...

    Getting Off the Fence

I hate chip seal! Out for a ride, and a section of road had been chip sealed. Figured I could go through it by slowing down and moving to the area that the cars had packed down. Unfortunately, a large truck came up behind me before the end, so I moved to the right. Yup, you guessed it, hit a...

    Getting Off the Fence

Mystery solved! I was loafing down a shallow hill (1% according to the computer) when a cyclist headed in the opposite direction waved to me. I waved back, then my cranks locked up and I had to coast to the side of the road. What happened is that as I put my left hand back on the bars, I...

    Getting Off the Fence

Problem solved, the V20 is back in operation, but the mystery remains. The RD hanger was bent inward, allowing the RD to contact the spokes. I have no idea how that happened. My only crash was ages ago when the rear tire blew. The prior ride was a 35 mile hill ride. Everything was fine...

    Getting Off the Fence

The weather broke a few weeks ago, and I have had several 35 - 50 mile rides. Decided I really need to work on hills, so went out today for a ten mile hill ride. The idea was to go out strong for the first five miles, then kick the hills the last five miles as hard as I can. Things did not go...

    What would you do?

Wow! Am I understanding this thread correctly? I can use an 11-40T cassette with Di2 just by using a Roadlink? Currently running 30/46 and 11/32, but finding 9% grades taxing.

    Foam seat hack for S40

I used a portion of an old memory foam mattress topper on my ActionBent. An electric carving knife works well for cutting and shaping. (Do not rat me out.) Have not needed it on the "V" (longest ride to date is 50 miles, so I might need it later). My big problem is staying put. The...
