    Crash

Well, with the current design, anyway. A set screw or two for the hangar, plus a flanged mate design for the fork-chainstay interface would prevent this need.

Merits of touring on a s40 over v20

I loved my S30 for touring. I'd used Radical design banana bags. Plenty good enough for a tent, food, tools, and laptop plus spare batteries. Not large enough to also hold the bedroll and sleeping bag. I was using the small version, I'd imagine the larger bags could hold substantially more. I...

    warped disc brake rotor

Going "medium speed" heats the brake surface (whether rims or discs) more than going fast, as there isn't enough wind to carry the heat away fast enough. I've encountered brake fade well before the disc rotors got hot enough to lose temper.

    luggage

See how it fits on the Thor seat (this is the S30v2, but it doesn't really matter, since this depends more on the seat): Tiltmaniac's S30v2 build.

Kit Needed...I know, the impossible dream!

As is my somewhat used one :)

    luggage

Also note that Matěj is also using an aftermarket (carbon) seat. I suspect it is a Thor Sport L or XL. These bags fit on the back of those seats without any problem, where the stock Cruzbike seat is less wide, and the bag will slip down. (Ha, he even says it is the Thor seat. :) )

    luggage

When I use such a bag on my S30, I am using an aftermarket carbon seat. I may also invert the headrest rails. This is for the s30s, so it may not work as well for the S40.

    Curved Slider

If you're overweight, the curved slider is a no-brainer as you have more room for the belly.

    It's raining

That depends. Is keeping the water inside the jacket ' handling it? :) The water was coming in from my hands. To be fair, I was basically riding through a thunderstorm, which included rain being driven so hard by the wind that the horizontal rain hitting my cheeks would bounce up behind my...

    It's raining

I had problems with water pooling at the elbows with my waterproof jacket. How do others deal with that?

    Tiltmaniac's S30v2 build.

I have no idea if this case would work for an S40. Unlike the Q and the S30, you can't disassemble the rear end.

    Tiltmaniac's S30v2 build.

It is enough for wheels+frame, but not seat or helmet. TBH, I wear my helmet on the plane to be sure it doesn't get squished.

    Trainer recommendations

I'll use my S30 spare frame. My watts/kg is pretty pathetic right now, so racing will be disappointing :) I'll probably be doing some races on Zwift, but mostly training. "Training" preferably includes simulations of hills and or other graphics to make things less boring. Money is secondary...

    Trainer recommendations

Howdy folks! I've just not been able to get out in the real world to bike of late. ... So it is time to invest in a trainer setup for an S30. We're most an Android house/PC house. Suggestions?

I can put the disassembled S30 in a airline-approved piece of luggage, fly across the country or world, re-assemble it, and have a nice long tour on it :) Can't do that with the S40 yet.
