    Tiltmaniac's S30v2 build.

No-flash (daytime looks): Flash-on (nightime looks): Happily, I was able to get an S30v2 and transplant components from my second S30. More pictures start again here: https://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/tiltmaniacs-s30v2-build.12220/#post-143148 Here is the BOM: Lights: +Front -...

    Going to a 1x11 setup?

I made mine from aftermarket parts. Many cassettes are neither welded together for one piece. For those, you can get some things which change the cassette gearing by replacing a few gears.

Kit Needed...I know, the impossible dream!

I assume John doesn't want two? In that case the kit I have will be available, depending on what John says. Mine does seem to be somewhat used, but good condition.

    Going to a 1x11 setup?

Most folks don't shift "properly". This means they use a chainring until it is too hard to keep using it, then shift to a lower chainring, etc. The "optimal" shifting has one bouncing between chainrings to actually get the "less wide spacing". Most folks don't do this.

    Lightweight sprocket cassette for S40

Can't fault someone for wanting what they want when it doesn't affect others. Not sure I'd take one if those lightweight cassettes as I'm unsure they will wear slowly enough for me.

    Front Light Mount Method

Ideally the light is on a vector different from that starting at your eyeball. Translation: when the light is close to your eyes, you don't get shadows to help you see potholes, etc. You want the light to come from a different direction so you do see potholes and other road features.

    Bike Sebring 2018

What the heck was that track cleaner doing on the track during the event anyway???

    Front Light Mount Method

I use a front-of-boom mounted headlight and a flashy linear blinker below on the frame under the crank/bb. On the rear, I have an incredibly bright light pointed down mostly at the road as well as another linear flashy on the rear triangle angled stay and my fly6 on the origin8 light mount near...

    Cruztrike???

Here are the highlights from the thread in which all the rest of my design stuff is posted. There are a few YouTube videos in there, including me riding it a couple times. http://cruzbike.com/forum/threads/adding-crazy-tilt-assembly-but-to-which-frame.8149/page-3#post-109583...

    WTB S30 V2 (non-suspended front)

If you're selling a Silvio S30 v2 (i.e. no suspension in the front), let me know! Thanks!

    Cruztrike???

In the case of my design, you get balance assist near vertical, which means you can putter away uphill slowly without falling over at far lower speeds than normal. You can stop at a light without unclipping. Etc yadda yadda. I took a non-tilt-lock approach (balance assist != tilt-lock) so I...

    S30 vs Powertap C1 (chain-ring power meter)

We have a late gen (non suspended) S30 that could use a new style chainstay.

    Working with Carbon.

Also, carbon fiber dust is nasty stuff. From what I understand, it acts similar to asbestos in what it does to the lungs. Slow is good. I use a wet paper towel around the hole which helps a bit to capture some dust.

    Working with Carbon.

Taping on the back side (can help on the front too, but especially helps on the back) of the workpiece can prevent flaking as the bit presses through the last layers of the laminate.

    Helmets with visors

I've tried a couple of Chinese cheap helmets, but the Giro Air Attack with shield was the best fitting, lightest, and most effective helmet-and-visor for me.

How best to determine crank length?

I have a set of powercranks that allow one to set a new crank length by loosening a bolt on each crank arm. Good for playing around with crank lengths.
