Rear Rack for S30 for a trunk bag

Another option you should try: take out the headrest rails, turn them upside down, and reinsert. You end up with a slightly not-flat mounting platform for a bag.

Helmet for Casual, Everyday Riding: Yes or No?

In Europe, most people on bicycles do NOT seem to wear helmets (at least true in Paris, Munich, Zurich, Amsterdam, and Berlin). In the US, most people on bicycles seem to wear helmets. Some folks cycling around their neighborhood (typically single folks) don't, but almost everyone I've seen...

    LEL 2017

On my S30 I use the Bent-Up-Cycles trunk bag (wide). I figure since I have wide shoulders, a wider trunk bag will help aerodynamically.

    Steering damper/stabilizer

I'm still using my silicone rubber bands for flop-stopping (i.e. parking the bike without having if fall all over the place/damage itself). I have some plastic tubing and springs that I'll be putting together at some point as a "more permanent" replacement flop-stopper. The current silicone...

    GPS Mount for Silvio S30/V

If the boom is closer to your belly, that isn't a reasonable option, especially if/when you sit up to climb an especially steep hill. If there is a great distance between boom and belly, that works just fine!

    GPS Mount for Silvio S30/V

The standard 'out front' mount doesn't stay secure for me when the bar is centered on the drop bars of an S30 with the mount centered. ;) The issue is that the tube size is larger in the center and immediately tapers as you go away from the clamp for about two inches.

    Gearing upgrade advice needed

the 11-34 is 10sp? What derailleur does it have (from the photos, it looks to be a SRAM long-cage derailleur. Is it a gx?) Depending on the chain capacity, you could put a Sunrace MX3 11-42t cassette on for ~55.

    GPS Mount for Silvio S30/V

Not sure how others are mounting their Garmin quarter-turns. After being unhappy with my options so far, I purchased a Minoura SWG-400 from a local bike shop. As usual, it wouldn't work natively, as the clamp isn't big enough. Thankfully, thanks to how it is built, it can be mounted easily to...

    S40 questions

Likely redundant, but: Ratz is describing the width of the fork holding the drive wheel. That is at the front of a Cruzbuke, and commonly called "rear" wheel on a diamond frame.

Quite curious to hear how the Bacchetta seat fits!

The Thor and/or Volae seats make a world of difference in comfort for me as well.

    S40 chainstays for the V20

I *can* wait patiently, and I will, but I don't want to wait ;)

This one is for those who purchased the Axiom rack for their T50s

And tapping an already-made-hole isn't that hard. For real! Someone at a hardware store would likely help you do it.

    S40 chainstays for the V20

Ratz, we have a forum problem. I hit the like button like 50 times, but it didn't take. ;)

    S40 chainstays for the V20

    That disappointment you get when..

Ya, totally right Larry-- it is ~1:18 at 30mph (.6 miles). It is one of the longer segments on the route, sadly (the longest is .8 miles), so not much opportunity to open up safely.

    Mixing Cruzbike with RWDs

I switch between the P-38 (hauls kids), Speedmachine (e-bike), and the S30 somewhat regularly. The Cheetah mostly just collects dust :/ I haven't had much of an issue, but if I've been riding on one flavor for too long, switching over will feel a bit alien for the first 30 seconds or so.

    That disappointment you get when..

I was going fast on a flat section of my commute: a hair over 31 mph, sustaining around 30mph for that section until I had to slow down for the sharp (blind) right turn for the next section of the commute. I was feeling confident that I'd be one of the faster riders on the segment. Nope. Not...
