    Vendetta headrest

I took the default screws out (well one-- the other fell out by itself), and put socket-head button screws (round on top with a socket for a hex wrench) in from the foam side, then attached it with nuts on the back side. Works robustly this way.

    S30 disc 'fast' driven-wheel recommendations.

Well, turns out that the wind just doesn't blow me around much at all on the Flo 45s. This has me wondering if I should go for a 60 or 90 at some point in the future. For now, I'll just enjoy it :)

    My new recumbent bicycle

Tire choice seems to matter a lot on the Silvio w.r.t. delivering power without wheel slips. Looks like you have Conti GP 4000s, which I've heard are good tires. I'd been using Schwlbe Pro One tubeless 28s, which seem to give good grip (tubeless so I can run 'em a somewhat lower pressure, which...

    S40 Build Notes

For the standard seat, I'm sure the top-wings-extension-brace things are a good idea. For an aftermarket seat, they're going to be problematic. It would be awesome if the wings were bolt-on in general, honestly.

Check your tires after each ride

This has also happened to me. In my case, we figured out it was the rim overheating, which slowly cooked the air in the innertube, which caused it to explode (hot air expands). The explosion happened on the order of 30s or a minute after the descent was over. I use disc brakes now.

    silvio seat wedge

That moldable/meltable plastic stuff (like InstaMorph) is also awesome for stuff like this. I found that you get much better stability if you use something like that that makes an 'A' shape from the edges of the seat to the sides of the frame (or a T-shape, if the wedge is 'low' enough). How...

    Nohands riding and starting.

When I was test riding, the Silvio/Vendetta family felt more stable (for me) than the Softrider. This obviously depends on body type, etc. Since weight distribution is in play when determining resonance (i.e. wobble), keep in mind that changing seating position changes the dynamics (as does...

    S40 transformed into F40?

Mosquito, was last I looked, was a lean==steer device.

    Cruztrike???

I made a prototype delta trike out of my Silvio. It was a lot of fun. ... and then I had another kiddo and life otherwise got in the way ... Anyway, I'm working on rev 2 now (where the main difference is that it will be robust enough to do some real riding with, and likely easier to mount, as...

    Fighting residual wobblies

If you like it, and you're having fun, and you want to have fun, keep it :)

RAAM time to spread the word again about 3000 miles to a cure

I have that same toolchest, I think. Watch out-- if you put heavy things in the plastic compartmentalized 'drawers', and then do some lateral Gs, they'll bust the latch at the top of the plastic 'cage' door. The little plastic latches are pretty weak...

    Nohands riding and starting.

Much of this is difficult to quantify, as the human body is a fabulously complex physical system (lots of bones, tendons, etc. not just "actuators" (muscles)). Anyway, you can be pushing muscle against muscle and not be wasting power-- it may simply be increasing leverage, and thus increase...

    Fun new accessories!

Was just browsing and found a bunch of new accessories! The new (adjustable) headrest looks fascinating. More pictures? I can't quite tell how it works from the one we have so far. The tool kit looks interesting. The B&M Cyclestar mirror works even for bullhorns. Nice! The MoosePack looks...

Great washers for aftermarket seat mounting

18-8 Stainless Steel with Neoprene Rubber Sealing Washer for Number 10 Screw Size, 0.2" ID, 1.125" OD After trialing these for a few months, I'm far happier with this solution for mounting seats than other things I've tried. This washer has a slightly domed stainless washer on top, and a rubber...

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

I have an old Powercrank (each arm rotates independently, and engage the chainwheels in the forward direction only) from 2008 I'd been itching to try on a CB (both legs extended == better aero)... :)

    "The New Silvio is Coming"

I saw that one, but wasn't sure if it'd be productive to make noise about it. Glad to know that it ended up being something that made it to production! It is going to make a lot of people happier, and likely (thanks to a lack of squishing of bearings) faster...
