Unless the local Cannondale dealer comes back with some really surprising news, it looks like the most sensible approach is the replace the cannondale fork with a 1 1/8" standard fork using the adapters from Problem Solvers. Can anyone suggest a good entry level fork? There are plenty on ebay...

I think I found the parts to switch the Cannondale over to a 1 1/8" fork and stem. Now I'm waiting on the local cannondale dealer's price to send the headshok back. Then I'll make my decision on what to do. Thanks guys.

Looks like the shock is shot, and it's not a cheap replacement. Required rebuild parts may not be available. Adapting a 1 1/8" fork might be the answer. Can you point me in the right direct for such an adapter?

Hopefully DefJack will chime in. I already have that bike, so if some adapter need be made, it might be worth it. I'd like to hear his experiences so I can decide whether I should seek out another donor or not.
