SRAM 11-speed 11-36 cassette for double chainrings?

Front derailleurs are generally under-spec'ed. That is, they can handle a bigger range than stated. As far as small ring and the whole range of the cassette, you need to make sure you have a rear derailleur with enough capacity. This is why I usually go long-cage.

    Power meter for Vendetta

I'll actually get physically tired. My brothers-in-law setup a ping pong table on a 4x8 sheet of plywood. Faster game because of the smaller size. We'd play for hours and actually get winded. The last time I played one of them, I was wearing my son in a hip sling. He was asleep as I...

    Power meter for Vendetta

I can get behind that! (Of course, I can actually get tired playing table tennis... :) )

SRAM 11-speed 11-36 cassette for double chainrings?

I have a chain catcher on both of my bikes (50/39/24 and 48/38/22). I agree with you; I think it's the size of the drop that causes the sometimes problem. With the chain catcher, I have no issues. Added: I have N-Gear jump stops on both of my bikes and will be adding to my soon to be created...

    33 Miles, Uphill Both Ways?

I've taken the kids out extensively on a single trail-a-bike and they do quite well. The problem here is that like many tandems, the pedals are tied together. So either both of them have to pedal or neither can pedal (or, yet, worse, one doesn't have her feet on the pedals). So, they fight...

    New Vendetta V20

Glad you (and the bike) are o.k. I completely agree that when you're ready, clipless pedals and these bikes go together hand in hand. You're making progress in leaps and bounds. :D

SRAM 11-speed 11-36 cassette for double chainrings?

There are examples of people installing triple cranks on Silvios and Vendettas. There is a thread about getting a 74 BCD triple to work (which means you can get a granny gear down to 24T). I'm apparently the weakling of the group as I like really low gearing. For me, a nice triple with a...

Hi THWaters, Both of these suggestions I think are interesting. :) I don't think the training wheels make sense for riding once acclimated to the bike, but they could be useful in getting used to how the bike behaves and learning how to pedal to minimize pedal steer. The TTrike project is...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

Nope. Never gonna work. You should give up now and just send me the bike... :) OK. I tried. That is just awe. some. And we're really gonna need video sooner than later. Just sayin'. :D

SRAM 11-speed 11-36 cassette for double chainrings?

There are certainly MTB 2x11 SRAM systems. You may be right that there aren't any road cassettes. (???)

And that is the real secret to learning how to ride one of these bikes. Well done, sir!

    Touring vs. racks vs. suspension

I've been to the blog and highly recommend it! :D In the entry where I introduce my Cruzigami Mantis, I have the gearing that I have for my Sofrider. I have a 48/38/22 triple on there and highly recommend something similar, particularly for touring. There are people who have very successfully...

    Disabled rider

Hi Rob, I don't have any experience. What I can tell you is that once acclimated, you should have very little issues. Getting acclimated will be your challenge. I do recommend starting off with Kim's videos. Bob Pankratz also has good tips on how to start off as well. I'd recommend...
