The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

I think this sums it up very nicely. Mazel tov!

    Where are all the recumbents?

    Well? Can you ride it?

The Road to 500 miles in 24hrs

I would personally take the two pounds but very comfortable seat over the weight savings. And, of course, it depends on which seat is more comfortable and by how much. (I'm also not very light, so 2 lbs just isn't a big deal to me.)

    Rigging Aero Bag on Vendetta

This is exactly my concern for any sizable amount of weight. I certainly wouldn't go hog-wild packing.

    Spam problem

Ok. This problem isn't getting better is it. Suggestions (in addition to above): 1) Move to model where new users are approved. At the very least, they need to have a valid email address where they can click on a link that is sent to them. 2) Limit what new users can post without approval...

    Shedding a different light...

The idea is cute. The one real review I saw of the device was kind of "um.. ok". I guess part of my skepticism is that it only helps in a very small fraction of cases. That is, if somebody is able to notice things on the ground, then they'll notice the flashing lights you've got on your bike...

    Rear Rack

Modded to fit? yes. Would it hold enough weight to make it anywhere near useful? I doubt it. (I'm really just guessing and not providing any useful information in this post.)

After 4500 miles on my V I've developed "tennis elbow"

Since owning my Cruzbikes (but in neither case because of them), I've had moderately severe tennis elbow in both elbows (separated by a couple of years). In both cases, I found that it was more challenging to use my trigger shifters or even brakes, but it didn't affect my Cruzbike riding...

Something (really stupid) happened on the way to the Park

I'm very glad this turned out to be a story that you can tell with a smile on your face. :D And that's how tornadoes rip roofs off of houses. (Very high speed means very low pressure, or, heavy things suddenly seem to ignore gravity.)

    Off-topic: Weekend Concert

I've been suffering a sinus "thing" that's preventing me from getting out much on my Cruzbikes (although my Mantis has been recently shoed with new Kojaks, so she's rarring to go). I have been riding as that's how I get to and from the train when going to work (but that's usually with a 16"...

Puget Sound Recumbent riders who don't melt in the rain.

I use this Frogg Togg suit. It's cheap. It's surprisingly durable considering (I ripped the pants, but that really was my fault), and I always carry it with me when I commute by bike. I haven't worn it when it's really warm (because in that case, I just don't care if I'm getting wet), but it...

    copenhagen wheel

Nah... 13 lbs compared to (in my case) 250 lbs (me and bike) just isn't going to change traction noticeably at all. If you are concerned about traction (I wouldn't be unless you like really steep hills in the rain) and you want a motor, then definitely put it on the rear. You'd be able to...

    Haters going to hate

I do want to point out that now it really is a vocal minority at BROL dissing Cruzbikes. As far as acceptance goes, we are making (not too) slow and (very) steady progress. Just keep ridin' and smilin'. Everything else will follow.

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

Congratulations! We'll accept delays because of addtions of new members to the Cruzbike tribe. :D

    copenhagen wheel

I don't think it would be so bad. Many people use heavy (albeit not that heavy) hubs on their Cruzbikes. Since the weight is symmetric about the axis, I don't think it would be that much harder. (I suppose I should mention that I have been wrong before... :) ) If you put 13 lbs by your...

    Haters going to hate

Robert is indeed an asset. He actually doesn't ride (or own at least) any 'bents. But he's good at math and willing to share. We haven't always agreed on everything, but he is a good guy. Update: As far as I can tell, Robert is indeed not banned at BROL. Lee, did you mean Wannabe?

    New Vedetta NeckRest R&D

Very nice! (I do recommend looking over Mr. Steve's thread: My Neck Rest is Better than Yours to see if there are any ideas you can "borrow".)

Tired of being mistreated by motorists?

I kinda like that idea. (Well, I'm sure it wouldn't end well, but...) I've also had the idea of attaching two different color sharpies on a stick that is 3 feet long attached to my rack. Any car that got too close would be marked. :)

UMCA Century Road Record Attempt - Oct 11, 2015

And looking back in history, this is the exact point in time that Cruz Merckx Oslund got his name. :D
