Did I buy the right bike? I think so. Help me make sure

I kinda sorta think you bought the right bike, too. And, like you, I'll be very interested to see what things look like after 500 miles. Well done, sir. :)

    My Journey Begins...

Now you know to put sunscreen on the tops of your legs. Just ride on white, reflective roads and it should even out... :D

1st century - longest ride ever

I won't pass judgment on anybody's clothing choice, but in case some of you out there don't want to wear a sports bra, I use a retractable ID clip to attach the hose to my shirt. Has the advantage that I can stand up before I need to remember to take it off.

    Vendetta vs others

This. Most people before buying or acclimating to Cruzbike have the thought that it's going to be hard and problematic. And it does take a bit to get used to one (although a bit for some people is a quite short time). But once you're used to it, it's hard to go back. "What do you mean I...

Did I buy the right bike? I think so. Help me make sure

If the bag options don't do it for you, I'm sure you could get a rack on the back. Look at the racks designed for disc brakes...

    First cycling vacation coming soon

(Continuing Abbott's list): 10. Starting on a steep hill can be really, really hard. In one case, a friend of mine offered me a push and that actually helped a lot. You can waste a lot of energy trying to restart. (My bikes are geared really low (less than 17"). In my case, I need to shift...

    First cycling vacation coming soon

As has been said, sit back and spin. Long hill climbs are where I put my arms behind my head and just relax. I've been asked if I was awake...

Boom sock - work in progress

Find a nice big hill. Run down pedaling backwards with and without the sock (5 times each). Report back. :D (I don't have a problem with power meters, but calibrating them well is non-trivial - maybe not so much of an issue in this case.) I find aerodynamics confusing enough that I'm not...

Are Vendetta's really fast or what??????

Put a sock on that baby and you'd have a real screamer. Just imagine the look of the pissed off F40 rider in your rear view mirror... :D

Are Vendetta's really fast or what??????

O.k. So I've ridden a Silvio 30 for 30 seconds and never seen a V in real life. What about the Vendetta makes it corner better than a Silvio? Your CoM is lower on the V (and it isn't obvious to me if I think that should make it better or worse). Others who have ridden both? Enquiring minds...

Are Vendetta's really fast or what??????

Alan and Ratz are correct. If it's not a really crappy road, aerodynamics will drive terminal velocity. As far as how fast you are willing to go, suspension may play a major role, particularly if the roads are quite crappy. And so the Silvio would shine here.

XQL Q-rings .vs. Reg Q-ring .vs. Circular Chain Rings

I reject your apology. You've got nothing to be sorry about. You tried one technique, you're now assessing said technique, incorporating the feedback from your colleagues, and planning your next step. Welcome to science.

XQL Q-rings .vs. Reg Q-ring .vs. Circular Chain Rings

I think you'd still want road verification, but that being said, you've posted a brilliant idea. You can even make it blind this way (don't tell Larry what's setup and hide it from him). Even if not doing a blind test, I'd think you might get better reproducibility on a trainer.

    New Vendetta V20

Chapeau! (And as far as the walking, it often makes more sense to walk up the very steep hills and save your energy. Not to mention than starting on really steep hills is really hard. No shame in that at all.)

    Vendetta V2 (Large) for sale

I can see why riding that would be hard. Another option is to raise the bars up in addition to moving them forward. I like to be able to sit up on my Cruzbikes for climbing and stop signs and don't see how I could on your bike as it is setup.
