Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

Bob, any idea if TrainerRoad will take cadence from my Stages but get and control power via my KICKR? I'm being lazy and don't want to put the bike on the KICKR just yet. ;) It annoys me no end that the Wahoo Fitness App recognizes both my KICKR and my Stages devices but won't let me combine...

Farther, Faster, Fitter, Fun - (4F - The unofficial Cruzbike training team and support group)

Yeah, I just downloaded the app to my iPhone and was checking their site FAQs to see that all the stuff I use seems to be supported. I might need to get a speed sensor. I quit using the one I had because I kept bumping it. I've just been using GPS for speed. -Eric

I haven't looked at the Trainer Road app yet but for Training Peaks, I experimented with a ride from the other day. Downloaded it as a TCX history file from Ride With GPS as the data was captured with the iOS RWGPS app. Uploaded that file to TrainingPeaks here. I'm not fond of dealing with an...

    N24HC 2016

Tag size. There are numbered blocks around the edges and a tear-off strip on the bottom IIRC. The people manning the checkpoints will use a hole punch to punch a hole in the correct numbered block to keep track of your progress. If I remember correctly, when you get to the night time loop they...

    N24HC 2016

Larry, you might contemplate on how you want to manage your rider tag. Typically, the upright folks safety pin the tag to their backs. For you, this can work but you'll need to exercise some care since you will be laying on it. My first N24HC, I was using a Brain Box and just pinned it to the...

Bob, I'll likely give this a go. I'll go explore TrainerRoad and figure out what I think I can commit to.

How to precisely adjust boom position

Man you guys crack me up. I just mark a line with a black Sharpie. A little rubbing alcohol will remove it if you need to change where the mark is. And if you really want to go to town with your Sharpie...

Boom ... was that an S30 that just passed you?

Naw, I'm still geeked on Cruzbike. Been riding my Vendetta as much as I can but work and yard work among other things have been a PITA. Haven't ridden my Strada since last October. I'll be racing my Vendetta this weeking at the MHPVA 32nd Annual HPV Rally in Waterford.

    The last V2k

Here is my Vendetta 2.0 gearing on the Mike Sherman gear calculator. I'm running 53/39 crank rings with an 11-36 cassette and 170mm cranks. -Eric

    Boom bumper

I'm wondering if the eyelets might result in some abrasion over time?

    questions about power meters?

Their website says "Under no circumstance should the inserts be submerged in liquid of any kind." I wonder if that means trouble if you are out doing ultra-cycling in the rain and get soaked? Are they going to short out and/or do rude things to your feet? What if you have really sweaty feet...

Watts, how many light bulbs can you power with a Vendetta?

On Ride With GPS, you can select a segment of your ride on the ride timeline with your mouse and the data updates to just show the values for the selected segment. Kind of like being able to arbitrarily evaluate lap/split times after the fact without having to toggle a lap/split on your device...

    Eric's Velo

I have also given the ELF a test ride. Rob Cotter is a lot of fun to talk to and their Durham facility is a blast to tour. The ELF is the most practical car replacement velo I've seen and is a lot of fun to ride but I also like the DF, Sinner Mango, Marvelo, Pterovelo, new Quattrovelo, and...

    Best rain jacket under $200?

I have a pair of Frogg Toggs too but haven't had a chance to try them out yet. Interesting material and I think it will work quite well.

    Eric's Velo

Note: I asked Bob to move this thread to the community section in lieu of hijacking Aggieray74's thread. Here is the Velo Tilt (still in development) I mentioned above. There are 2 prototypes in this video. One is a bare mule used for proof of concept. The other is the Velo Tilt proper (mostly...

    Eric's Velo

I have 2010 Bluevelo (www.bluevelo.com) Strada #10 that I bought used in Aug 2014. Comfy Vendetta riding season up here is somewhat short and I had been interested in velomobiles for a long time so when this one came up for sale down in Whitehouse, OH I bought it and rode it home 85 miles. That...
