I used a custom 60mm extension on my first S30 and a 100mm extension on my first S1.0. In both cases it relieved recumbutt by getting the leading edge of my thighs off the seat and putting more weight on my back. In addition to that it brought my hands down considerably.

I agree with Larry for your vintage Silvio. The S30 was fixed and didn't need fiddling.

Ed, FWIW the link Ben provided is for a S30 with dual suspension. Ive owned both and currently am on the S30v2 with non-suspended front. The seat angle is is about 33 degrees on the v2 vs about 27 degrees on the v1. I don't miss the front suspension at all and think that the power transfer...

X2 on the sling pack. Ive used one on all my Silvios and the Softrider. The V20 will also sport one once it is on the road. Mine is the Terrecycle version but essentially the same minus logo. Fits repair gear, spare tube, keys, pump and phone with room to spare for a wind shell when necessary.

Sounds like the S30 v2 though it has a slightly shorter wheelbase and rear suspension than your rendition of a V30. I love mine though it hasn't seen much love this year.....shoulder is healing and I plan to change that soon!

The primary benefit for me was in getting my hands lower. It made my S30 more comfortable and improved handling. I suspect that it also had some aero advantage as it got my hands out of the airstream to a degree.
