    Robert's V20 build

Abbott, that feeling (logical or not) of my hands about to slide off the drops esp when i hit a rough spot unexpectedly was one of the reasons i decided to try the upside down approach. Overgripping was a problem for me too for the same reasons you said. The same feeling on Bacchetta bars led me...

No need to ship that mallet. Just a good fling in a northern direction and it will home in to the Norse BikeBuilder in no time.

Slim, will do on the photos. The Boss may get an evening out in the bargain! Weather here is mid 60's F so cold garage is no excuse for me. I'm just slow! If I was building up two at once with photo sessions at each step it might be Christmas before i got thru.

Hmmmmmm.......I think that Silvio is happy in its new home. No need to confuse the poor thing ;) But I do have a magic mallet I can let you use now and again!

    The V Chronicles

Glorious chaos.... Busch und Müller Cyclestar mirrors mounted as pioneered by Robert Holler. Works great, much lower profile, cleaner look. SRAM R2C Yaw bar ends....the bomb (w Yaw FD) Cobb rings and cranks....available stock in 145 and 155mm crank lengths. These are 145. Perfect...

Thanks jond! Glad you've enjoyed the build as I've certainly had fun building it up. Always good to overcome the challenges brought about by my relative 'newbieness' when it comes to doing my own bike work. I would never have made it through without the experiences shared by others on the forum...

Absolutely right. Similar experience here. When I first got the frame together and wheels on, of course I had to sit on it (in it?) in the garage late at night, without even any brakes in place. Could not even see over the bars at all, so immediately got online and ordered the recurved...

    The V Chronicles

Hi Slim, sorry to be so long getting these. Hope these give you the info you're looking for in terms of clearances, view etc. The Boss doesn't mind taking pics of her fatboy on his CrazyBike so if you need something else it will be no trouble. Please note the build is still a work in progress!

    New wheels for my V20

Very nice! Is that the Fastback Norback bag under your seat? How did you attach it?

    Robert's V20 build

Yeah, not sure I could get used to bar ends in that position either, where you have to shift with 4th & 5th fingers and the heel of your hand. Am completely sold on them for a bullhorn-like setup (below). R2C's are the bomb for this. I have them mounted so the cables run down the trailing...

On my old Silvio 1.5, SRAM Rival brifters (now owned by castlerobber; she is still using the same handlebar setup)(Mirrycle mirrors mounted on the bar-ends. Not very aero but great rear viz): Those are Origin 8 Gary 2 bars. I always thought about cutting them off about 4cm but never did...

    The V Chronicles

Thanks Larry! Just the top bar not the whole bike?? Either way I think you're right....there's no way to have too much YELLOW on a V!!

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Good to know. Makes me doubly glad i haven't taped the bars yet; like Mark said changing that out is easy(easier, anyway) at this point. Was not liking the spongy feel. I like Lizard Skin too. Not as stretchy as 'cork' tape but stretchy enough and way tougher. Loving the build diary too btw.

I think you're on to something. If not for aesthetics I could do without the bar tape as well.

    The V Chronicles

Will get the boss lady to take another set of photos. Might be later in the week when we're both home during daylight but will get them done. Not sure how I look taller since iirc I'm shorter than both. Maybe it's the Ventisit ;) Not sure Ratz needs any help from Mr Park but I'll take Mr...

I sense a disturbance in the 3rd Law

Hmm wonder if that's why my rear brake feels a little spongy

    The V Chronicles

More progress. Immediately before first shakedown ride, temporary pedals, bars not wrapped yet, no doubt some tweaking to do, but pretty darn happy with it: Surprisingly good fit and visibility despite short stature. Nonetheless recurved slider on order to improve sight lines. Oh----Thor...
