    Took The Plunge (figureatively)

Have you owned speed-tailored trikes? If so, I'd like to here your comparison between the S30 and your speedy trikes once you get a few thousand miles on the S30.

Helmet with magnetic snap on visor

I really wish Giro would make a progressively tinted shield; tinted on top fading to clear on the bottom.

Bottom bracket clamp bolts come loose

Thanks for the input, Ratz. I prefer to buy high quality parts that will last many miles but it sucks that every time I get hit it costs hundreds or thousands of dollars. These road parts are sure fragile. My old Quest made it through a lot of hard knocks without performance reducing damage...

Bottom bracket clamp bolts come loose

I didn't know blue would be sticky instead of locked/brittle. Thanks. I've experimented with tightening the bolts progressively tighter 1/16th of a turn at a time. Once they're tight enough to stay where they are my BB only lasts about a thousand miles.

Bottom bracket clamp bolts come loose

I've got a mid-2015 S30. The BB clamps are tightened with two bolts. If I tightened the bolts enough to prevent lateral BB movement but not so much as to deform and deteriorate my BB then the bolts come loose after a few minutes of pedaling. I don't want to put thread lock on the bolts since I...

    Bottom Bracket Suggestions?

Does loctite work for those bolts after multiple readjustments? I have not put loctite on mine because I thought it might only work the first time. Then, after the first unscrew and screw in for adjustment, the loctite seal would break and it would no longer work.

You many have heard: Larry crashed again

Gaia! My heart was racing! Sliding like that towards oncoming motorists! Oh man that was nerve-wracking. I'm glad they didn't crush you. Looks like you stayed towards the inside of the curve.

    Take-aways from Portland retreat

I would love to recommend the Soft Star shoes but cannot. Although they are assembled in Corvallis, Oregon, make efforts to responsibly source materials, have leather tops for crash protection, and very thin soles for barefoot dynamics I cannot recommend them because they fall apart quickly and...

How to be treated like a human being by truck drivers

GREAT IDEA FROM THE PORTLAND RETREAT: This may save your life and probably make rural rides less infuriating. Put a small (maybe 6x9 inch) American flag on the back of your bike or fly one as your Cruzbike's flag. Trucker respect attained. Prepare to be treated like a human being.

Only in Michigan - Truck kills five cyclists

It infuriates me to no end how conversations about deaths, injuries, and safety are always focused on cyclists and pedestrians. Motorists are the lazy buttholes endangering everyone and everything in their path.
