    New Vendetta V20

Unfortunately it might not I'd happened. :) It was while most people were arriving and we were too busy talking. I also rode an USS bent as well. I can make it go, but it wasn't smooth...

    33 Miles, Uphill Both Ways?

I tell people you need to be relaxed when descending and it's especially true when pulling a trail a bike. When towing, the biggest thing to remember is to not let it get too fast because then you can get in trouble. My monkeys are trained to pedal on the up hills and coast on the downhills...

    Shine on you crazy diamond

Don't worry. I won't tell Charles. But that is pretty cool. :)

    Cruzbike School is open Again

Ahhh... O.k. that makes sense. :)

    New Vendetta V20

Charles is happy. You are absolutely right about (1) and (2) above. What I recommend for newbies is if you feel like things are going south, take your feet off of the pedals and let your arms take over. It's weird at first having your legs interfering with your steering. This leads to...

    Cruzbike School is open Again

I thought (but haven't owned or ever actually seen) that the 451 had just the same fork and just the chainstays were shorter. You used to be able to get the longer chainstays for the 451 so that you could do exactly what people are thinking of doing (putting 559 wheels on the 451). So, Bob...

    Cruzbike School is open Again

You get a better selection of 559 tires than 451 tires. You get ... That's all I got. Good 451 tires will roll almost as well as 559 tires, the 451 bike is geared better (in my opinion) and fits in a single 31" suitcase. I'm a big fan of the 451 Quest 2. (So, of course, Cruzbike got rid of...

    Cruzbike School is open Again

You would need a longer chainstay (which you used to be able to buy, maybe still can) to put 26" wheels on the 20" quest. I personally think the 20" Quest has more reasonable gearing for hills than the 26", but YMMV...

    33 Miles, Uphill Both Ways?

It's my arms that were the most tired. One of my biggest problems is that when I tow two, I can't use the lay-back seatpost and I'm too upright. My butt gets sore and just less comfortable in general. But still better than a DF... :) I don't see how this would have worked on a non-MBB 'bent.

    33 Miles, Uphill Both Ways?

I went to the 2nd Annual Dutches Rail Trail Recumbent ride. Great trail. Great group of people (~20-25 showed up). They claim the route is flat, but boy, it felt like I was going up-hill both ways. Balancing was a lot harder than usual. I rode the 33 miles (16.5 miles each way), but my...

Adding crazy tilt assembly... but to which frame?

Forget photos, I want video! (o.k. And I want more photos. So don't forget them, but you know what I mean.)

    New Vendetta V20

Very nice! I tried riding a Silvio 30 this weekend and while it was fine (I got on and rode), I didn't like how the handlebars were too close to my chest. I like how you have more clearance there (I like to be able to sit up on big hills and in traffic).

    Power meter for Vendetta

For what it's worth, I have no experience with non-round rings. That being said, the physics behind them makes a lot of sense. There are parts of the stroke where you can push a lot of with your leg. And there are parts of the stroke where you can't. To me, it makes sense if you want to...

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

Mine are the "wide" (56cm) bars (probably should have mentioned that earlier).

From penny farthing to safety bike to recumbent bike to Cruzbike to penny farthing? :D

    Down Hill Form

This. And, just in case you missed it, This. I found you can really screw up a descent by being tense. relax And good things will happen.

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

My seat is usually fairly reclined (~ 35 degrees). Sometimes lower, sometimes a lot higher (when I'm pulling kids with the trail-a-bike). I believe it's more a question of getting the handlebars where you want them than the handlebars. I prefer these because my wrists are in a more...

    SoftRider Replacement Handlebars

On my conversion, I've replace my handlebars with Nashbar Moustache bars. I like them a lot.

    Shine on you crazy diamond

In the daytime I run flashing lights. At night, I run a pair, one solid one flashing. (For whatever that is worth... :) )
