    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Followed Rotor's recumbent instructions (I hope). Is this in the ballpark? (**The hole that now has 4 silver Sharpie dots above it is the factory-etched 1 hole.**) With the right crank at the dead spot I put the ring on the spider so that the tooth-trough directly in line with the factory 1 is...

XQL Q-rings .vs. Reg Q-ring .vs. Circular Chain Rings

Another brilliant ratz's rule....this one cracked me up! Great psychology from Inspector Gadget :p:p:p

I'm impressed! Tried getting MTB bar ends on road bars once to no avail. Good job.

    Need a Silvio right brifter

I did something similar when i had a bacchetta but those bars were 22.2mm outside diameter. What bar ends are you using that will go on road bars (i'm assuming your bars are 24mm OD)?

    Community Jersey preferences

I REALLY like both of Abbott's drawings. Maybe make one Nascar jersey and one more subtle Rando style?

David it sounds like the Bacchetta suits you! It is indeed a great bike.

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Never mind o_O Going to start from scratch and count holes etc etc. It will be interesting to see how it turns out compared to current set up. A good excuse to put off cleaning and waxing chains on the other bikes ;);)

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

I see what you're saying about getting your OCP holes marked correctly for later tweaking. Are you setting up the factory marked 1 position per the Rotor recumbent instructions, and then subsequent personal 2, 1, and 3? Or are you using another method?

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

Yikes. Ok. So the John Tolhurst method (70 deg back from dbc) is no good. Great. Everything i thought i kinda sorta understood is out the window. Back to the garage (workshop) :-(

    Q ring upgrade - Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh......

So, with the pic of Gary's crank moved back the 73deg from dead spot his tallest tooth is supposed to be the one just becoming fully engaged in the chain, do i have that correct? If so, is that tooth the one above TW (on his chainring), the one between EP and CH, or the one above the D in...

First Silvio ride was a wash...literally

castlerobber the red q ring looks really cool along with your other red accents. Even the red velcro strap adds in! Btw that's a great looking bottle mount on the seat behind your head--would you tell us the manufacturer? Rick riding in a Speedo in Mississippi would get you arrested, if not...

Two thumbs up on TwoHubs.com. I've bought from them before and will again. Great customer service.

    Need a Silvio right brifter

That was part of my motivation for the flipped then rotated Gary bar configuration: I also felt like my hands could slide off the bars if I relaxed my grip a little, and especially if I hit a rough patch of road. I had them positioned like yours, with the grips pointed almost straight down since...

    Need a Silvio right brifter

For better or worse I look at handlebars from a different perspective. Here are Gary2's on a Silvio 1.5. Odd in appearance but very ergonomic, comfortable, and allow for a relaxed grip when resting the hands on the inner curve of the hooks.

Yes I see what you mean about the ramps of the Sweep vs the Gary. The Sweep may be worth a try. I am going to wind up with a handlebar collection to be proud of when I get through!

    Need a Silvio right brifter

Tks ratz. Tried a different bar on my Sofrider (Soma Junebug, comes in 31.8) to see if it would do for the V or S but the Gary 2 is much much better so hoping to use that. The Sweep OS looks similar in shape but is a lot wider (610mm for Sweep vs 530mm for Gary2, just over 3in) at the ends...

In actual use, would there be any problem using a shim to fit the Gary2 to a 31.8?
