    "The New Silvio is Coming"

So an S45 is a Silvio 1.0 or 1.5 without the suspension and with a hydro formed frame and maybe a longer wheelbase? Sounds like a winner to me. I have a 1.0 which I dearly love and have named Sweet Pea because it is such a nice bike for fast but sociable crusin'. It climbs like a mountain goat...

    SOLD - Silvio - $2200 - Corvallis, OR

Shipped it off this morning to a buyer in Connecticut. This bike was my entry drug into the Cruzbike Tribe. It took me awhile to get the hang of operating the FWD, MBB system but what a revelation once everything started to click! I'll miss the down the road comfort of the dual suspension but...

    SOLD - Silvio - $2200 - Corvallis, OR

I had fenders mounted on this bike with 25c tires but that was the upper limit.

    Another Vendetta newbie

Wow, that Monster Cookie ride comes up pretty soon. I will register for it. I have never done it before. I did Lebanon's Strawberry ride last year and I have helped out with and did the metric century for our club's Covered Bridge Ride. Just got back from a 42 miler to Shedd today - got home...

    Another Vendetta newbie

velaksap, are you the person in the Eugene area I had a bit of email correspondence with? I just got a Vendetta myself. I've only done 100 miles on it so far but I'm not having any trouble with the seat - I have the Ventist pad also. The bike is a speed demon for sure. I was already pretty well...

Help with seat issue Silvio 1.5

I just installed a 100mm extension on my Silvio 1.0 which brings the bars down a bit making for a more comfortable position. I rode it 70 miles this weekend and, while not as comfortable as my Silvio 2.0, it wasn't bad. I had a bit of recumbutt at the 55 mile mark and I do notice the top of the...

    SOLD - Silvio - $2200 - Corvallis, OR

I remember Joy mentioning how she wanted to get a V when we were at the Cruzbike Retreat. Are you still thinking that direction? It's true that going Cruz means you may have to find a faster crowd to ride with. Sometimes I feel a bit sorry for the diamond frame riders who are at such an...

Elliptical chain rings don't work ...

Exactly! They make no difference at all except to your wallet. Larry Oz did some testing on them awhile back I believe and came to the same conclusion. I tried them out and noticed no difference in speed or knee comfort. I believe the favorable reviews may be due to confirmation bias - spend...

    I finally finished my build.

I also have a nearly new Scarab bag I might be willing to sell. Good luck with your V. It's an amazingly fast and comfortable ride.

    I finally finished my build.

I use a Bachetta Brain Box mounted on the head rest. It swings less from side to side if you cut a 7.5" wide x 6" high piece of things plywood, placing it inside the nylon pocket between the front side of the headrest.

    Big Speed Increase

Today I brought my average speed on my V up 1.3 mph over my usual average with the installation of ceramic head set bearings. These babies are smooth as silk too.

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

My wish is to have a T50 that can be configured as a touring bike. I think there would be a market for a comfortable touring rig that can climb better than other recumbents. The T50 would need to have a way to mount under seat panniers in addition to a sturdy rear rack. Tricia and I are...

    New Bike Blues

Mark B, I own both a Silvio 1.0 and a 2.0. The 1 has a Sram double setup while I have an Ultegra triple on the 2. In the almost 4 years that I have had the Silvio 2 I have used the small ring probably not more than 15 or 20 times. Still, it can be reassuring to know you have the bail out gear...

    EXPIRED - Vendetta 1.0 - $2200 - Scottsdale, AZ

You need to measure your X seam and then the fitting instructions on the Cruzbike site will make sense. Google X seam, measure yours and then look at the size range for the 2 chainstay sizes in the info page for the Vendetta.

Quest deal of the week on BROL

It's the races Cruzbikes have won lately that is damping down the naysayer's taunts. Some Cruzbike crank even posted on BROL that winning races was not proof that a bike was fast - (face palm).

    Flat Pedals

I have a similar dilemma with my Freerider. I sometimes need the convenience of clip in type pedals when starting up on inclines. Often I can't get enough forward momentum on the initial stroke to stay upright, in which case being able to pull back quickly on the pedal and try again is crucial...

    Took The Plunge (figureatively)

The Cruzbike family is certainly a wonderful and friendly bunch. I received the warmest welcome from them at the Retreat last July.
