Does Cycling Cause Brittle Bones? Is a recumbent worse?

Hello Cruzbikers, I read an interesting article here https://www.plasticsurgeoncapetown.com/cycling-causes-brittle-bones.php about the lack of weight-bearing to the bones in cycling and the bone thinning(osteoporosis) as result. Does riding a recumbent as a sole source of physical exercise...

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

Looking at the geometry, and this is very much intended to be a city/commuter/touring bike! It is strikingly similar to the Kervelo Bike without the expensive Pinion sealed gearhub! Cruzbike should also do a high quality T50 action video on a town street with some shopping loaded in the bags.

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

I noted that there is no mount point for a braze-on front derailleur. Can a clamp on derailleur work or is the boom tube too thick?

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

+1 Modifying the seat stays is the only way to vary the seat angle without changing the bike geometry. I was hoping it could vary from 50 deg to 35 deg. But I understand it was targeted and intended for the general public many of whom will ride in urban areas. As long as the overall weight is...

T50 - Everyone likes a bike you can kick start

+1 ! and I might add distribution and ease of local access. They are an odd contraption to the masses. This might finally be the answer to affordability. May be? Love that green!!!!

Ride video : My weekend outing.

Yes, got a red flashing light behind the bike. You are also right about my brakes, its left hand for the rear wheel and my right hand for the front wheel. It's been like that for me since I was a kid. (Ours was a British colony ). I don't ride motorbikes, but I'am informed that they have the...

+1 I appreciate this about my recumbent more and more each time I ride especially as I have grown a little older! It's funny, that as I ride by many locals they usually shout "Eh! ma starehe!" which in swahili means luxury or comfort... I appear to them like I am on a moving couch!

Ride video : My weekend outing.

We have good weather but bad bicycle infrastructure. If your country has good infra, then you should be grateful and ride as much as you can. I ride both the recumbent and a DF. I must say the the DF has greater manoeuvrability in tight traffic because it's easier to start quickly from a dead...

Yup! We never appreciate what we have until it's gone, or we see something worse.

    Shimano Groupset?

Discalimer: Iam not a Vendetta owner :). However , if Vendetta 1.5 frame a has a 68mm English threaded bottom bracket shell , then I suppose a BB-RS500 Hollowtech-II BB should fit well. @Robert Holler can confirm.

    Bar-end Shifters on a Silvio

Bar end shifters on my homebuild. They work well. These are friction (Dia Compe Silver Ratchet shifters mounted on "ON ONE" Midge flared bars) and take a little practice to get them to shift precisely. The shift levers are a tad too long for my taste but I can live with them.
