    V2 headset play

...tube. I feel a lot of fore/aft rocking in the lower bearing seat, and side-to-side rocking in the upper chamfer. Adding insult, now it's creaking loudly with every pedal stroke and echoing through the frame tube. squeak, creak, creak, squeak I'm hoping the headset ream/facing tool will...

    2021 Q45 Seat Angle

I can’t speak about the seat extensions, but for a headrest I like the ICE headrest. It’s slim, highly adjustable, springy, and has an available mount for your light.

    2021 Q45 Seat Angle

I used a similar arrangement for a while to get more recline - about 6 months. I had no problems with the arrangement.

    2021 Q45 Seat Angle

...and review. I came upon the seat back position shown in the attached photo of my 2020 Q45 by accident, while trying to quiet a persistent creaking noise that I finally isolated to the seat bracket. I was also trying to attain a more reclined seatback angle, and thus attached the seat bottom...

New(to me) S40, first mbb, first ride in 18 months. What could possibly go wrong?

First ride of the year. But wait….. When my S40 was assembled by me, I had the dreaded creak in the front end. After triple checking that everything was greased, snug and correct twice, I gave up and took it to a local bike shop just before Christmas. After a false repair and a log wait due...

    heat

...better than sun lotion as sweat washes this off plus keeps you cooler. Drop below 30kmh and I feel the heat from the road. Drink lots of fluids... Use a bottle to splash water on legs etc. If near a creak I'll be chest deep to lower core temp. A core temp sensor is $300, something to save for.

    Creaking front triangle

I will have to try this, as my Q45 is exhibiting a similar creaking.

    Creaking front triangle

...to torque every single bolt just so, as well as dropping my gravel bike's rear wheel in the front fork of the Q to rule out spoke noise, the creaking/clicking was worse than ever and so was my groaning and moaning. Then while sitting on the bike, now able to replicate the sound while not...

    Creaking front triangle

My 2018 Q45 had a creak/click. Removing and re-installing the bottom bracket retainer (I don't know what else to call it) stopped the noise. Make sure the gaps between the retainer and boom are all the same, before torquing.

    Creaking in my Front End...

I was experiencing a similar creak in my (new to me, and quite unused) S30. After playing with metallic parts (e.g., nuts and bolts) and tightening a slightly loose headset, I noticed that I still could generate the sound by moving the handlebar back and forth. I then discovered that the...

Good tip, I will try that - thanks

    Creaking in my Front End...

I located a creak/tick for both my V20 and S30 at the same spot: the band clamp that connects the boom to the steerer tube. I fixed it on both bikes by taking the band clamp off and running a layer of yellow tubeless rim tape along the inside of the clamp, trimming it flush with an exacto...

Yes, it is! (was: Or maybe not (was: My Vendetta is a survivor (was: My Vendetta V1.0 is dying)))

...Of course, now I'm not sure if it is safe to attempt it on this bike. What would happen if and when the clamp snaps? The bike would start to creak like crazy, but it shouldn't fall apart, right? I desperately need a Cruzbike in August, when I'll be doing the 1001 Miglia, covering, yes, 1001...

    Lower leg pain--outer calf

...I had to stop pedaling around 20mph. The problem got worse once the weather got warmer. I also developed a squeak twice per pedal revolution. It was actually more of a squeal than a squeak or a creak. The solution to that actually exacerbated the Q-factor problem. So any guesses what that was?

Upgrading S40 circa 2019. Need tech advice

Found the crane creak viscoset reference in the new S40 thread. It's the EC size. Mid, seems to be what Rob Holler recommends. And that Jenson link is loads of cash off MSRP! Awesome. I think I might just go for it.

    SofRider Bottom Bracket Replacement?

If you use AUSTRALIAN Extra virgin Olive oil, the flavour will be superior if used for cooking, and the smell of the bees wax/olive oil will be amazing!!!! As long as you do not burn it, and use a large pan with water in it to heat the pan with wax and oil in it!!!! If using Beef Tallow, then...

    SofRider Bottom Bracket Replacement?

Will have to try the beeswax. Probably lasts longer. But if I go w the olive oil, I’ll have to get some of the cheap stuff. Not even to quiet a bike creak would I use my coveted Lebanese extra virgin stock.

    SofRider Bottom Bracket Replacement?

It took me 6 months to finally find the squeak in the pedal cleat!!! Boy was I happy after that!!!! I now use beeswax/olive oil mix on the cleats contact points!

    SofRider Bottom Bracket Replacement?

My most recent creak (and like most people I have a long history of bike creak detective work) was coming from the interface of cleat and pedal. I use Shimano mtb cleats/pedals and the metal on metal creak was driving me crazy. Solution? About every 3rd or 4th ride I dot a little 3 in 1 oil on a...

    SofRider Bottom Bracket Replacement?

...the suggestions. Turns out that the Shimano BB-UN55 does indeed work, I don't know why it would not screw in the first 14 times I tried. Unfortunately, the creak still persists; any ideas what might be causing it now that I have cleaned and/or replace my cleats, pedals, cranks, and bottom...
