    Mt Diablo ride with BARC

Alan, the first rider in the group really bombed down the hill fast, and the guy on the trike that passed me was moving pretty fast at times. But most of the riders were making sure they stayed out of trouble. The views were way better than they appear in the video. At one point during the...

    Mt Diablo ride with BARC

Larry, yes there were certainly some hazards. The South Gate Road, which we went up, is in a lot better condition. The feeling from watching the video is a lot different than how it felt riding. It can get kind of dizzying watching the video, but it never felt like that when riding. Maybe it's...

    Mt Diablo ride with BARC

Rode up to the the Mount Diablo Junction Ranger Station with Bay Area Recumbent Cyclists yesterday. Had a lot of fun with ten other recumbent riders. The weather was nice, with thin, high overcast and temperatures about 58 degF (14 degC). Here's are a couple pix of the view a short way below the...

    Recommendations on lighting

The first night I tried the tape another cyclist didn't see me and rode right into my path, yelling out "whoa!" at the last second when he finally saw me. I swerved out of the way, then pulled over shortly after to remove the tape. Anyone have experience with the Oculus from Barry Beams? -Cliff

    Recommendations on lighting

Bob, I just checked it, and that looks like it might help. I need it to see skunks and pedestrians on the Bay Trail, but there are a lot of bikes out there, too. Thanks for the advice. -Cliff

    Recommendations on lighting

I use a Cygolite Metro 400 on my helmet. Cygolite sells an extra helmet mount that you can buy from their website. I like to ride with it on the highest constant setting, but I occasionally get complaints from oncoming riders. So beware of going too bright. -Cliff

    boom/slider length on Silvio S30

@BrianA, thanks for the reply. I had the BB clamps loose, but not the skewer. I loosened the skewer, but the problem persists. It sure feels like there is a mechanical stop inside the slider tube.

    boom/slider length on Silvio S30

I can't get dimension A shown on page 10 of the Silvio Assembly Instructions any shorter than 84 cm. I need it 79 cm based on my knee height. The boom seems to be hitting a stop. Since the example length in the Silvio Assembly Instructions is 80 cm, I figure I must be doing something wrong...
