    how to stop wobbling

@Karl42 - 6 months ago I would have said - “give it time” or “frame up” or “try pull or push”. I’ve been on Cruzbike’s since 2008/9, ride comfortably with no hands and all that Jazz But, recently I’ve begun riding a v20 with a large chainstay and narrow drop bars and holy crap was this wobbly...

    V20 Chainstay Length (Large)

@Lief - thanks for that info. I believe you have the Vendetta 2.0 - do you know if the V20 chainstay length is the same? If so, it sounds like the long chainstay will not fit me, and the medium one will put my BB in a less aero position than I currently am on my Silvio. @ak-tux - that's very...

    V20 Chainstay Length (Large)

Hi Ivan, Your Silvio is a keeper, are rare gem. If it was mine, and I had to change anything, it would only be the front triangle and replace it with a rigid one like the one on an S40. The rest of the frame especially that rear Ti leaf spring suspension is beautiful light-weight technology that...

    V20 Chainstay Length (Large)

What is the V20 chainstay length in large size? Is this from center of front wheel to center of BB? I ask as I have been riding my Silvio 2 with the 100mm extension giving me about 545mm chainstay length and an almost horizontal boom as in the pic below. I am very happy with this setup for past...

Who has both bikes: V20 and S40

I’ve got both an S40 and a V20. I agree that the S40 is a better fit for long, relaxed rides at an endurance pace. My observations on the S40 and V20’s characteristics below. Both are amazing bicycles. I’m so happy with them! Hope this information helps. --- Climbing: I can’t really...

My heart broke with my boom today

It sounds as if it would not work. Thank you for the offer. I will certainly ask when I pick up the bike. The parts have not gotten to the bike shop yet so I don't have the bike back.

My heart broke with my boom today

Vicki C, If a new style chain stay fits a Silvio 2, I have a like-new (200 dry-road miles) standard length chainstay from my 2018 V20 that I would be willing to part with. It’s left over after swapping my V20 to the long chainstay. Bill

    Longer chainstay = more speed

The maximum height of your knee relative to your shoulders is determined by the seat recline angle, the length of your torso, and the length of your femur. None of those variables are changed by raising your feet. Below is an animation of a study I did several years ago. It's purpose was to...

Medium Chainstay needed for V 2.0

I just want to go back to the way I had it before I tried using the longer chainstay, since the longer chainstay puts my handlebars in a position that restricts my leg movements. Certain torso and leg length combinations just will not work with the longer chainstay and mine is one of them...

Medium Chainstay needed for V 2.0

I am assuming that because it is Yellow, it is off of a V2.0, not a V20. Would you like to trade the all aluminum boom insert piece that has the handlebar clamps on one end and inserts into the curved bottom bracket boom? Depending on your height, some riders trim the ends of their’s in order...

    Climbing hills on a V20?

Well it seems that re-assembly of my V20 is behind schedule, so I won't be able to pick it up until Saturday afternoon. Since the front end was still in pieces, I dropped off the new size Large chainstay. I was surprised that despite a ~ 5" difference in length, the Large chainstay was still...

    Crash

Well, with the current design, anyway. A set screw or two for the hangar, plus a flanged mate design for the fork-chainstay interface would prevent this need.

    Crash

A T50 has what you would recognize as a “normal “ dropout. As the boom length is adjusted, the chain stays rotate around a point that is not coincident with the axle. This causes two undesirable things to happen. (1)The length of chain needed changes because the distance from the axle to the...

    Climbing hills on a V20?

I've instructed the shop to go ahead and install the Di2 system using the existing chainstay. They say it shouldn't be a problem switching to a longer chainstay if I decide to go that route, and this will allow me to do some coast down comparisons to see if a higher BB actually does result in...

    Climbing hills on a V20?

I just had the guy at the shop measure the distance from the floor to the center of the BB, which turned out to be 26". With an inseam of 32", I'm not sure what the optimum height would be for me. How can I order just a chainstay?

    Climbing hills on a V20?

...is nowhere horizontal either but definitely more than this picture. Get the BB at the right height is a dance between crank length, chainstay length, and your inseam - which will determine how much the boom and slider will pivot back toward you in the seat. I would suggest trying a 21.5"...

    THE NEW Q IS COMING

It appears to be a reuse of the S40s chainstay based on the height of the front derailleur hanger provided in the pic. Not an issue for a 1x11 configuration, but may limit a 2x?? or 3x?? configuration due to the height of the hanger relative to the large chainring.
