    Why drop bars?

Dang! 140lbs? I am almost 180 lol. The V20 would be a great light tourer though. You can put a top tube bag on the boom, the Moose pack under the seat, The boom has a set of water bottle bosses between the bars and headset, plus 2 more water bottles can be put under the seat (or storage...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I did 80km with the new bars, brake levers and shifters and the new system seems to be coming around. My CdA was hovering around 0.220-0.230 with the older bars and brifters even though it had been around 0.2. Todays ride with the new system was 0.208. The drop bars were 390mm wide so I had to...

    6-12-24 World Time Trial Championship

2022 6-12-24 World Time Trial Championship race report I’m a relative newbie to ultras. My first race was the 6-hour at the 6-12-24 World Time Trial Championship in Borrego Springs in 2019. I followed that up with the 12-hour in 2021, and the 12-hour at Bike Sebring earlier this year. To...

To V20c as a lifelong DF roadie

Thank you so much for the detailed info! very helpful! i’m looking forward to tinkering with the bike, particularly in ways that allow you to carry things such as food! If I’m going to be racking up a lot more miles, it makes sense to be able to carry a bit more gear. I think I’m gonna take it...

To V20c as a lifelong DF roadie

Well, if you like tinkering then you will have plenty to do on the V20 to customize it. Ventisit thickness, layers of adhesive backed foam padding if you want more comfort or to change your head height, standard or adjustable headrest bars, bottle locations (behind the head, under the boom...

Where do you all carry your water?

2 bottles behind the head in the CB mount seem to be the most aero outside of the Race Case. But as you can see some are either building their own case behind their heads, including me, or using the Thor seat and Radical Design bag combo to put their bladders with bite-down tube in. Bottles...

Where do you all carry your water?

I keep water in a Camelbak bladder in my rear trunk. The hose runs down along the seat and is secured with Velcro. I can carry a couple bottles worth easily. You can also mount bottle cages under the sides of a stock seat, which is what I did when I had a stock seat.

    Peeing

YES! I noticed that four years ago since I started riding. It's has not gotten better. I am 52 yo, and I have myself checked out yearly. My friends now just automatically ask me if I want to use the restroom whenever we go by one. :) I raised the issue at another forum. Someone mentioned it...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I am planning to make it a fast and light tourer and TBH, all of the changes done to my V20 have been with the TABR in mind. I couldn't register by the deadline on January 31st this year because the quarantine restrictions at that time would have put me almost 2 weeks beyond the 3 weeks plus 1...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

...your V20? I find my custom carbon box has plenty of space for anything I need to carry on a day ride. Most of the time all it has is my water bladder, food and personal items such as phone etc. But I can easily fit full winter clothing in there etc. My biggest issue is that I cannot fit a...

    Hydration alternative

Dialing in the hydration storage takes a bit of time. I tried bottles under the seat and behind the head. For short rides up to 100km depending on the temperatures, I go with a 1L Nike bottle behind my head in a triathlon X-Lab Torpedo Kompact cage. Many here seems to agree that that location...

    Recommendations for ultralight tent

So, my experience is mostly with backpacking and have only recently started to bike-pack. Bike-packing is pretty awesome, however, it made me rethink some of the gear I was using, especially while on a recumbent. One of those pieces was all the tent poles and such that I would normally have...

How to make your Vendetta as fast as possible

...get a normal view). The longest bent sheet came first, then the shorty behind the neck to close the gap a bit. Inside it I have a big water bladder that is pressure assisted by some bungee chords. It all works very well. The fairing is functional but easy to make from simple thin carbon...

2022 Q45 - where does the water bottle go?

I’ve never hit the bottle with my calves, but I wondered about that before I tried it. I find 40 oz to be all I need before having to stop, and the bottle is easier to clean and fill than a bladder.

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I've taken photos of what I have done so far. I plan to document it.. but if it ends up as a paper weight all bets are off!! :) I have the camelbak bladder. I am not sure if it is different to yours. Mine is completely sealed, so the only way any air or water can get in or out is when you bite...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I've never tried CF before either..... it could be a collosal failure!! Youtube videos make is look OK?? I doubt you could use monokote for the mould. You need something you can apply pressure against to saturate the cloth any work out the excess. I am using styrofoam shaped with a wire cutter...

My Very First Recumbent is a V20

I think the monokote setup is not for me. It looks too fiddly and fragile for me. And I want the ability to remove/replace. So at the moment I will look towards the more rigid clip on covering like Dyma. When I get it I will do some testing to see if it helps or hinders CdA. My current project...

Carmel Valley Double Century ride report

The Carmel Valley Double Century is a California Triple Crown event hosted by XeDapViet (XDV) Cycling Club. It is a difficult, hilly double that would have been one of the California Triple Crown stage race doubles had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic. This year the route was an...

    My Hydration System

Good afternoon fellow Vendetta Riders! After changing my stock seat, I wasn't able to use the hydration system I previously used, so I ended up using a bag mounted to my seat with room for a 2 liter bladder... I didn't like it, because I like to drink cold water. I couldn't keep the bladder...

Newbie S40 owner here in Hawarden, UK

Recommend some Banana bags from Radical, with this and the water bottle clamp you can buy from Cruzbike means four water bottles being on the bike within reach. EDIT: Just seen the picture and you already have the water bottle clamp.
