...seat so I put a flat plate back there to redirect the flow aft and that reduced the drag more. All that foam on the plate is for my 2L water bladder. It is insulated and spring loaded with a bungy cord. I still have cold water after a long hot ride. I ride with the side aero bottles empty...

An S40 update 350 miles in

Yes, that is it, and the brake levers point aft instead of ~down. Very much dueling pistols with the thumb upward on the striker. Not for everyone but works for me. I break by pitching my wrist down/back and squeezing between the handlebar and the levers. Shifting is done with the palm near the...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

Jond, could you take a photo of the frame only on the bike, as photo is worth a 1,000 words, and in your case 10,000 words! What is the weight of the frame, the bag(?? L) and the empty bladder (2L??) The reason I ask is that my 2 off 1.4 L Nalgene bottles weight 412 gms, and the 2 bottle...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

I have the radical design bag. Yes it’s a quality product with ykk metal zip external pocket for bidon and reinforced base..... but is simply not as good a design as brain box with its bladder space Velcro pocket etc. plus cheaper. I’ll take a picture of bracket.

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

...I have on my Giro. It holds a lot of stuff, but not a lot of heavy stuff, is surprisingly inexpensive, easy on & off, has space for a water bladder, looks good and might even help with aerodynamics. If I was buying a similar brain box type bag today I'd probably aim for a smaller, higher...

Go to page 2 for a pic. Aluminium flat bar frame very light and looks good. I reckon. Aero and great for long fast rides.

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

...day's worth of essentials in a convenient way. The Bacchetta Brain Box on my Giro A20 has plenty of carrying capacity, has a spot for a water bladder, easily goes on or off and doesn't hang out in the wind. I've seen attempts to mount this type of bag to the Cruzbike seat using chunks of...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

OK (don't want anyone from down under thinking it didn't happen ;)) .… Please excuse my messy office in the background. The pack is mounted to the seat at the lower water bottle mounts and the holes at the top of the seat (I don't know why they're there - other than as a place for me to attach...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

DocS - I’m like you, not trying to set any records, but want something convenient & useful. I did my whole cross country ride using this 48 oz bottle with a drinking tube fastened to the front boom on a modified bottle holder & some small bungees. Wish there was a bottle design that would fit...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

Point taken regarding the bladder... I only use water in the bladder that I've used before, because I don't want to encourage bacterial growth... Blessings, DocS

Why is a bladder oNLY good for water? Is it because the tube will need cleaning if Gatorade, etc is added to the water?

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

Many threads under forum hydration search. Many products available from cruzbike too. My el cheapo solution inspired by John Tolhurst and Eric Winn make a frame out of aluminium flat bar attached to headrest and pop on a Bacchetta brain bag. Works well but a bladder is only good for water...

storing and eating/drinkin for long rides (100+ miles) on Silvio or Vendetta

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm getting ready for MS150 riding a Silvo 2.0 in October. I'm not trying to set any records, but have never attempted a century ride before... I've been trying to figure out where I'm going to put stuff! I have two water bottles behind the headrest, but...

Mid Atlantic 12/24 or Tour de Moore

Water bladder should be no problem, though you may need to drill a hole in the bottom like the old carbon case. I actually used a Speedfil bottle with a hose over my shoulder and it worked great. Less onboard weight and, as you might have seen, near immediate refills. That was for clear water...

...to the headrest frame via two nutserts on the top underside of the frame. Added a small velcro belt for extra security and we had a simple solution to a long-running problem. Jeffrey's race pack was sweet. I wonder if it can fit a water bladder inside? This would be the ideal solution.

Think I'm Going to Love This

For Hydration I use the race case in the back and mount a bottle holder under the boom in the front (see pic) This give me 3 water bottles of any size - I use 20 oz (or 2 bottle and a large bladder - 2 or 3 liters I think) - This is usually enough to get me through most century races unless I...

    T50 water bottle option

Yes, the T50 is my main bike so I use it for everything. In fact, I'm doing a 400k this weekend. The frameset including the seat and pad is stock. As far as gearing I'm currently running a Shimano Nexus 7 internal gear hub, with a a Microshift trigger shifter. It's a good setup for relatively...
